Be proactive, serve people, learn and unlearn, change your mindset, don’t take offence, open your heart, hope you people understand and practise this. meanwhile I just noticed that you don’t ask people to like or subscribe to your channel…

you’re so sweet Tosin, after i greet you 3times and you give me ela, that’s the end o. when I moved to Canada, when I see Nigerians my head was always in a greeting position😂. Some people are pleasant they respond, others will just snub you. I still say hello to Nigerians when I run into them in the store or when I am taking a walk. If you like answer me, my money no go lost 😊

This was very helpful for me. A couple of years ago, I moved to a new city because of marriage. Honestly, this was really helpful because I have really struggled with making friends. Thank you ❤

Such a beautiful video Tosin . I moved to Canada three years ago and I am honestly still working on building good friendships, I had to let go of some friendships here because of values system and all, but watching this video now I will be more deliberate on building a rich life. Thank you Tosin

Such a good video Tosin. I find these so relatable. For the longest time, I preferred to have an "exclusive" group of friends but maturity and a lesson I learned in 2020 has thought me to be open to loving and serving people beyond my closest friends. I moved abroad 2 years ago and I have been so blessed with a wonderful community of new friends. A community where we serve each other selflessly. I have co-planned so many events, from house warmings to bridal showers, baby showers, hallelujah challenge watch parties etc. Sometimes, it takes sacrifice in terms of my time & resources but I don’t mind because it is a privilege to serve and be part of a loving, drama-free, mostly God fearing community. I don’t take it for granted at all. It also takes humility & self awareness to be part of a community. I had to learn that I'm not too big or too special to not be offended my people. Like Tosin said, I have made a conscious decision not to dwell on offense. There are some people I know will definitely offend me and I have forgiven them in advance 😀 What's most important to me is having genuine friendships and building a community. I still have boundaries and when people cross them I let them know asap but I don't let offense or gossip build up. I think of how most of us in my community are growing and our lives are evolving (marriage, jobs etc) and how by God's grace we will continue to be there for each other through the different phases of life. If you are relocating, or have just relocated, please don't isolate yourself. Lose your biases e.g "I don't want people in my business" (this is where healthy boundaries come in) or "I don't want to hang around this race or nationality" (huh?) Make friends, be open to loving people genuinely and best believe the love you put out will come back to you. A good place to start is finding a Church! People underrate this so much but that's a conversation for another day. Welldone Tosin👏🏾

ThIs is absolutely a rich video. We all need a community to serve and be served. Even if I'm in space, I'd always make valuable connections. I understand the importance and I'm intentional about it.

You see this thing with sound mindedness eer, it is safe to say it’s a major deal breaker when considering marriage with someone. You can meet people who want you to always say yes to their requests and your refusal unleashes the worst reactions from them. Some can abuse you and expect you to see them as jokes. Some will also never make up for their faults and always pose as the victims in situations. They never prioritise your feelings about their actions. See, no matter how handsome or beautiful they are, DO NOT STAY! They clearly need HELP! And that’s God’s work and the willingness of these persons to acknowledge they need help and receive it.

Hi Tosin, thanks for sharing, everything you have mentioned are deep stuff, it takes a critical thinker and an open-minded person to digest each of these points. I can relate because have been with people with all of these issues, My old self would have never considered this as a big deal but coming out from a bad and dark situation I now better never to ignore this, they make up human reasoning and behaviors.

Tosin, this video is gold. Every point you shared is spot on and important to observe in a relationship. Also, I believe that self awareness is another factor that we need to talk about and observe in relationships. A lack of self awareness on the part of any party in a relationship can be a burden that plays out in so many ways especially with conflict resolution.

Thank you for this video tosin, So apt, family enmeshment is so dangerous, if you are not careful at the surface, you might mistake it for “ohh they are close in their family, he/she has family values or “awwn they are family oriented pple” May God give us discerning eyes.
