The FM9 is definitely just as awesome, better in some ways, but if you're considering the QC, it would be for the more convenient touch screen and much smaller size, or you have an amp collection you want to capture. Cheers!

Daaaamn, how many helix variants does line6 have??? being the HX floor the only good one and worth having... and maybe the Stomp if you are willing to sacrifice half of the DSP power

One note - the QC does have hardware ground lifts like the FM9, just controlled via software. I also think you underplayed how difficult it is to tweak the FM3/9 on the screen compared to even the HX Stomp - that UI is just a nightmare, in terms of "stage usability". I don't recommend ever trying to change much on stage beyond globals - which is fine in the Fractals - but if you do find yourself wanting to add a block, the QC and HX stuff is truly infinitely ahead. (I have a Helix Floor, HX Stomp, Quad Cortex, and ToneX here, by the way, and have used Kemper and Fractal in the past)

This is why i think the plug-ins are a ripp off. They should not charge more than 20$

I do like Fishman a lot (Voice 2 of the modern ceramic and the Merrow bridge voice 1 being the best imo) but I do prefer EMG's consistently myself. Random anecdote but I've called EMG a handful of times over the years and the service was incredible. Great vid! Thanks for the upload.

I was hoping the Nameless 2.0 would be one of the first "amps" to be put on the QC with the 3.0.0 update, makes more sense than the Gojira.

We need a Stomp competitor from Fractal and Neural DSP.. smaller footprint and reduced DSP but more of a budget option

As a 5150 Block owner. I can say that the QC is more accurate even if the crunch isn’t as pleasant than the Fractal’s model. Most people would use the Red channel as high gain but the Green Channel when dialled in right is crushing for high gain. Robb Flynn from Machine Head is an advocate for the Green Channel for high gain and Red channel for cleans. Great video mate

The fact that Line 6 is still a part of comparisons in 2024 is a testament to their hard work, future-proofing their devices. Well done, Line 6! Great video!

I’d be really disappointed if an update changed my hard work programming. Except, of course, if every one of them sounded better, which is the way I’m hearing it.

I like the Gojira X plugin just for the cab sims. I matched the high gain head to the cab that corresponds with the blue channel head. I don't know what it is based on, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's somewhat greenback based where I would assume that the high gain cab is likely V30 based. Either way, I kept going back and forth between the 3, and I decided that my favorite was the blue channel cab.

Just a suggestion, mix the guitar parts louder for these videos. I have to turn up the playing a bunch then when your voice comes back on it’s really loud.

One key detail missing from this video: Neural have said FROM THE VERY BEGINNING that plug-ins on the QC would only be available for licenses you already own. Yes, this assumes you have paid for the license(s). No, they are not just suddenly springing this on us all.

Lol, so Neural have to give everythign away for free, but ALSO, provide a marketplace for users to sell their captures? Seems like youtubers are just pissed that they can't earn more money themselves, but Neural can actually do some legitimate work and get paid. I 100% welcome free updates with new modules though.

Whatever DSP advantage the QC has is negated by the gapless switching recently implemented on the FM9. In my opinion the FM9 is far superior.
@TheGooseChaseMusic
@TheGooseChaseMusic 2 ай бұрын
Eh, you still can't run more than 2 amp blocks at once, so if you're running a whole band with one floor unit, QC still wins. But yeah, for one musician, the FM9 can do a lot more.
@misterringer
@misterringer 2 ай бұрын
@@TheGooseChaseMusic That's fair. That's the only use case to me where QC would make sense, but most users aren't doing that as it's very limiting in what a full band can do. If QC managed to get gapless switching like fractal has, then that use case becomes a lot more compelling to me.

If your not using captures than you might aswell stick with a Helix. If you are using the captures then it’s the goat modeller atm.

I ha an Axe Fx 3 and now a QC. The QC is better for amp tone because of the capture technology. The Axe Fx 3 is better for soundscapes. My current rig is QC and H90. It works for my situation. If fractal gets capture technology, nothing will compare.

I've had the Headrush and QC is way, way better. Haven't tried the Boss as I've had the GT-1000 and did not like the sounds at all. Do you ever run the QC as a virtual pedalboard or 4CM with the Orange? I recently got a Rocker 15 and have been playing around with that and really enjoying it.

I actually haven't run it 4CM, but I did put it in front of an amp briefly to test something. I'll have to give that another go!

I totally agree the reason the QC is so good is all because of the capturing system. You get way more bang for buck with the complete plethora of captures from the cloud, And with plugin compatibility coming real soon the quad cortex is gonna be a monster of a modeler.

For that type of workflow, it's definitely unmatched, except maybe Kemper, but Kemper is long in the tooth in terms of usability and whatnot.

The power supply scared me away from the QC and had me drop a couple grand on an FM 9, I also didn't want to deal with the headache of the ground hum issues a lot of people experience with the QC, and the models in the fractal are awesome! I was close to getting the QC, but glad I went with the FM 9
