Any new updates on the 6.5? Looking at a 94 3500 4x4 crew cab dually myself tbh tho it has 215k an makes me a lil hesitant to buy it. Loop

Well I sold it so a new owner is experiencing a really cool truck. There might be some issues with an old 6.5 with 215k but nothing too horrible. If you’re getting a good deal would go for it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@@SimplybEpic well who ever bought is definitely having a good time for sure! Yeah I'm looking at $5k on this truck, and looks like it's been a farm truck all it's life from what i can see. I personally need the truck for hauling an 8k travel trailer, and having something cool i can work on 😆

The 6.2L had its problems, but the Ford 6.0 and 6.4 were complete junk.

Anyone who owns a 6.5 needs to know NOT to use a cheap foreign part on its IP system, even a cheap cable can cause issues. Previous owner used a cheap eBay kit that I have had to completely replace with a Stanadyne PMD (but the one I bought came with a cheap cable!). Leroy Diesel makes his own cables in Texas and the 6' relocated PMD cable I bought from him changed the way my truck runs! You can also buy a 2 quart oil filter to expand this motor's oil capacity, which was smaller than the PowerStroke and Cummins competitors' capacities.

I have an 09’ h2 with the 6.2 and 6L80 that is supercharged. I started out with a 07’ h3 and loved it. I recently purchased two red 07’ h3’s for my two boys. They are both getting rebuilt and 5.3 LS swapped. I’ve always thought that a boosted v8 in a h3 would be the perfect platform

I know some people have a hard time believing this, but Harbor Freight has some good tools. Are they all good? No, I can speak from experience. The Bauer line isn’t that bad, and it’s actually improving on quantity of 20 volt tools and their respective performance. Some people just can’t or won’t grasp that concept.

most of these setups i have seen seem to place the spare tire closer to the passengers side and the Jerry can on the driver side...i guess in theory the heavy spare tire offsets the weight of the driver for a more balanced load.

My first truck was a 6.2. My second truck was a 6.5. My third truck was a 6.0. My fourth truck is a 6.4. All of which have a bad rap. Everyone of them were great trucks and engines. I’ve only had minor issues with them. Before anyone says anything, I sold each truck to upgrade to a newer model. There was no other reason why I’ve had four diesel trucks.

The 6.5 has a massive following. AM General still produces these engines today for the humvee. There’s a significant marine application. Bill Heath made a career of manufacturing performance enhancements with his company Heath Diesel, of which was just sold when Bill retired. BMI manufacturers the 6.5 optimizer engine. There’s a cult following for the 6.5

I currently own a 2009 Hummer H3 with 3.7 liter 5 cylinder engine with 121, 700 plus miles that I put on it. It was never abused or driven hard. Mostly Highway miles. The only problem I have with my Hummer is the ECM -- engine control module might be going bad. It was displaying several dashboard codes. I had the ECM reprogrammed by a good programmer and he cleared all codes for 1 day. Then I parked it for a day and the same dashboard codes displayed when I started the engine the next day, I let the engine warm up for a few minutes and the dashboard lights went off and the check engine light came on steady. So I connected my diagnostic tool under the dash and it was showing the O-2 sensor was bad and the EVAP valve was bad.

Nice video bro. Thanks a lot it help me a lot when installing it. But Iunfortinatly I broke the clips / fastener into my passenger side . But still ok I just figure it out to put something in it. I have question. Is your pillar lights have a sequential thing when you start your car? I watch some video , and they have sequential light when starting the car. But mine I don’t have it. But when I try it before connecting positive & negative it has. But now I installed. When I start my car it doesn’t show up. Please I advise & I really appreciate it thank you in advance.. cheers..

My worst experience with this truck was the pump mounted driver that would fail slowly, making the truck totally unreliable. Didn’t know what it was at the time and when I had it towed into the dealership, they claimed they had put it on their diagnostic computer and could find nothing wrong! After several experiences of being stranded I got rid of this truck and got a Dodge Cummins that is still totally reliable after 18 years and still going strong. You would think GM would have had the decency to solve the problem by relocating the pump mounted driver when I went back to the dealership with the problem, as you indicate in your video. No regrets getting rid of the 6.5!

The 6.0 wasn’t THAT bad, especially 05 -07 years. I’ve seen plenty last over 250k tuned and still going. If you just stud them and change the coolant and coolant cap you’re fine. The internet over hypes them

I see a lot of discussion on the 6.4 PSD in the comments, here's been my experience: 1: I worked for the govt, I drove a single cab dually 6.4 F450 for about a year, every day. Daily route was about 200-210 miles. 2: The conditions it was worked under were long periods of idle and low rpm driving with intermittent acceleration onto the highway 3: I suspect the truck was derated/detuned, as it only got like 10 mpg and wasnt the fastest 4: It still went 0-60 quicker than a 7.3, not by much 5: The only trouble code it ever threw was for a FRPS(fuel rail pressure sensor) going bad 6: It still had both EGRs and DPF intact 7: It was maintenanced once every 6 months, full egr and dpf clean, fuel system clean, coolant flush, oil & trans fluid changes, filter changes. 8: It always started no matter how cold, even in -14 it cranked for maybe 6 seconds (my dept didnt use block heaters) 9: It felt to me like I was driving an old diesel that would scream at me about a regen every now and again 10: This truck was a looker of course, everyone knows that body style is hard to beat lol Overall my experience with a 6.4 was excellent, I never looked at a 6.4 psd block and thought "ah that makes great power!" everyone remembers how invincible the 7.3 was but never how slow it was.

I realize I'm very late to this party but I just came across this video today, the big tires which Ford called super singles were an option on these trucks, as you can see in the pictures of the ads that you have those trucks mostly have the standard 9.50x16.5's on the rear. I didn't think they offered the in cab fuel tank in those trucks as all Super camper special beds add dual tank holes drilled in them, I suspect this may have been an option to delete the rear tank because some people in those days wanted a slide out bumper for campers with extra overhang and I suspect that would have interfered with the rear fuel tank.

Flood penetrol works amazing. You need to apply thicker and a few coats due to such oxidized paint. That paint will absorb that Penetrol until you have filled all the porous. We’ve done several trucks with great results. Don’t give up on it. It lasts so much longer than linseed oil. Check out our videos of the trucks we used it on. We just used it on our 68 Highboy.

your comment on rpm being its strong suit makes sense. However with some mods they can be incredibly torquey down low. I have an HX40II Turbo installed @12psi, with a supporting tune. as well as a 3" downpipe to a 4" exhaust. I didn't notice a big difference on the high end but down low the truck woke up quite a bit. Mine is a 94'
