I just love watching vlogs from conventions. I can't really attend any except for Spiel but videos like this give me the feeling of being there. Thank you for all the effort of filming, editing and uploading. I really appreciate it a lot. And I would just LOVE to play Just 100.

It is nice to visit conventions where the focus is on events and open table gaming with a splash of the retail side of things rather than the other way round. We have made some fantastic friends in the community this way 😀

Can't wait to get another game going once you get back home 😂 I've never been to Manchester - as a matter of fact I've only been to the UK three times: once for a Runrig concert in Stirling, Scotland, once for visiting a friend and a ComicCon in London and once for two weeks of holidays at a friend's place in Sheffield. But I kind of want to visit now. Maybe for ACNW next year 😂 By the way, I don't say that often enough but I REALLY appreciate your editing. Especially when it comes to your vlogs since I can only imagine how... exhausting?... that must be after a convention day.

Thanks for your kind words about the editing. We have invested a bit in improving the sound for these vlogs, so hope that's helped. Must confess, after busy days the idea of early morning editing (to get these out while the events are still on) isn't always appealing! But we know lots of people like to watch if they're unable to attend and want to still feel a part of it all.

Got to playtest this virtually through the Paverson Games discord... obv, as a classically-trained composer myself, I love everything about this theme. And I really found this to be a surprisingly smooth-and-streamlined heavy-ish worker placement game, nothing too convoluted here, just balancing a lot of minigames, which is just my speed in a euro.

@paulw6820 I'm sure know of my love for Distilled. Yes this has an amazing solo mode by Richard Woods and David Digby . There's a great video by Tom at Slickerdrips where he plays through a game, well worth a watch to see how it plays

We would love to come back to that games group but with working in London till 7pm we just can't get there in time

Pandora Celeste looks really interesting. I like this kind of game and the artwork is just amazing. I won't be able to back it but I'm sure I'll play it when I get the chance. Unfortunately I don't really get warm with Root. I tried playing it a bit on the app but... yeah. I guess this is one you should play in person and with people who are on the same level as you are. My favorite game in July was Flamecraft. I managed to play it for the first time in person and it was a great experience. It was the first bigger game I played in person since Essen last year what made it a special moment for me.

@Skyrodin the app is a great way to learn Root but it can be tricky to get into and we are lucky to know many people who know the game as much as we do. That being said Julian played te badgers recently and despite 120 plays of Root did terribly ! We do love Flamecraft too, such an adorable game we must table more

The candy mechanic seems really interesting; don't think i've seen it anywhere either. As for funny music stories (can think of a few, but most I probably can't repeat on here - I used to work in a theatre box office as a Supervisor), I went camping at D(r)ownload Festival 2019 and it pretty much didn't stop raining the whole time. The campsite was an unpleasant mudbath, (some people didn't even bring wellies), but a few of us decided to go to the silent disco in the village on the 2nd evening. We had to walk down and queue on a slight slope to get in, but all of a sudden this random extremely drunk person came sliding down the hill head first past us, got up and then started celebrating ... they were absolutely caked in mud (hair, face, clothes) and didn't have a care in the world.

I don't have a current Gen machine so I doubt I'd be able to play new Tomb Raider video game, but I'm reasonably sure there I'll be an announcement soon for that. Wonder if it will bridge the gap between original games and the survive trilogy

As an old gamer, these list get old. Gaming has been around for many decades before the year 2000. WBC’s been around for four plus decades. Yes some of the older stuff is two complicated for younger players (under 50) but something should make a top 50 list of all time? Is this basically a marketing list?

Thanks its very flattering you consider us "younger players"! As we say frequently throughout these lists, we pick the games we have played which typically means those we have bought, or have access to from members of our gaming group. If we haven't played a game, or more importantly didn't like a game it wont make our list, regardless of when they were released. Including something released pre-2000 just to have something on the list that is "released pre-2000" seems like Tokenism. Not sure why you would call it a marketing list though, when we wouldn't benefit at all from specific games being sold over others.

it would be interesting to compare against Final Girl. as a guy i havent been convinced yet to get final girl despite having so many great reviews. this seems more like a euro game, less dice luck dependent. and graphics just more resonate with me. waiting for this to be available on Amazon. if i dont have a Final Girl which of the games would you recommend?

To be honest, this game is nothing like Final Girl. That game is a solo player only game where you must rescue survivors while attacking a monster. You move your character around a board purchasing cards to do specific actions. Survive Alive meanwhile is a tower defense style game, where you draw resources from a bag to build up your base. There is dice rolling in Final Girl but he gameplay is really all about luck mitigation . There is no guarantee that Survive Alive will have a retail release, so you may not be able to buy it on Amazon.

Great overview and you just killed at the end! One small tip: there's a protective coating on the facing side of the acrylic standees. I didn't notice it at first and was like "oh, no -- Devir did the standees backwards!" Nope -- they didn't. You just need to work it the coating off. Same for the standee bases.

@@BoxedMeeplesI’ve been playing without changing a thing but haven’t played myself much as everyone else wants to. Oh and you can work before playing a gig (just assume your boss is cool for once and lets you off early). You just can’t work twice per round or play two gigs in one night but you can use candy to rehearse or work or do an anytime action with either work and/ or rehearsing as long as you have extra actions

I love your video so much. The thumbnail and your outfits are just great. Great music in the editing. And I was (and still am) SO excited for the game. I think I'm even more excited now. My favorite thing so far? Ramping up the dials to 11. This is actually the first time I've seen more of the game than the cover, the money and the dials and it looks amazing. I love Devir productions. The candy mechanism is great. Well... it's accurate and ... nicely sugar-coated 😂 I'll definitely get this game in Essen if I can. I want it. I need it. My favorite "rockstar" memory... Two friends of mine and I went to a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert once and to a bar afterwards. An hour or so later the bar was almost empty and they were about to close when Flea, RHCP's bass player came in with some of his people and invited us to stay. I got home at 7 in the morning... at least that's what I think.😂

I love Libby’s bending the rules and using so many baggies! 😂 We’re big advocates of reducing down the size of a game for travel. For us we love Itten games, and they’ve always been a big hit with children in our family, particularly Viking See-saw and Wonder Bowling. They’re not easy to get your hands on in the UK but we have seen them at some UK conventions so if you see them snaffle them. They’re a guaranteed success with kids and is big kids. 🎉

We love the itten games! Great shout 😀 Our girls really enjoy Viking Seasaw and I suspect it may come on holiday with us next month. We did see Wonder Bowling at Airecon earlier in the year, but were silly not to pick it up. The aim is definitely to expand our itten collection - hopefully at Essen several more will be acquired 😀 Libby played Ninja Master there last year, so that is high on the list to pick up next

I was wondering is Seaside would be on there since it is so new. I’m really enjoying that one. There is a new Poolside! version of Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza that would work well for this list. All of the cards are waterproof plastic and they have holes punched in the corner to keep them stored on a plastic ring. Perfect for the beach or pool with the little ones. (Be careful- it looks like Luthier is about to fall off the shelf and bonk you on the head! 😂)

Haha, Luthier is wedged over some other 6 definitely a lot more secure than it looks 😀 Yes we have only had Seaside a short while but have been loving it and can imagine taking it on lots of little trips and holidays in the future. TCGCP is a great shout! Hadn't realised there is a beach friendly version - our girls do enjoy that, we often play it at local conventions with them. We would also like to try Kluster with them and we have seen quite a bit on cards vs. gravity, which looks fun too.

A great list. I would've needed that about two weeks ago though since my niece's birthday was on July 16th and they went on holidays three days later 😂 I still gave her a game that would fit your list. Zing-a-Zam as a cute little trick taking card game with a twist. You can't see your own cards and all of the cards have special abilities. From your list I will most probably get Reef Rescue and Dobble for my nieces but you can guess exactly once which of the games was my personal favorite. 😂

Even though I'm not that good at playing the base game to start with, I still like the Distilled mini expansion. I agree, the box design is more than clever. My favorite mini expansions are - surprise! - the European dogs and the famous dogs expansions for Dog Park 😂

Bit of a cheat as I got it as part of the big box version, but the mini expansion for Isle of Skye that added a few new end game bonus tiles, such as the ability to rescore a player bonus was great. Have been looking at the Sea, Salt and Paper one, but haven't got round to picking it up yet. On another note, i'm the weirdo that has (or is just about to) send you an email :)

Excellent suggestions! I really appreciate the two mini expansions for A War of Whispers: Dark Alliances, and Conquests & Treasures. They make the 5 army decks more dynamic by adding events, player interactions and wild cards that allow you to play more interesting options on the base cards.

We haven't actually played with Prelude as yet, but I expect it would improve the game for us, we know a few people who have said they consider it as an essential expansion and won't play without. Do you feel that too?

I usually play with Prelude. The only expansion that doesn't hit the table often is Turmoil as it makes the game longer

Yes, gaining cards to be able to get more when you trade and also trying to get along the recruit track are both pretty important tactics in this game I think
