Damn. I thought Mandy was "old" then. She's like, 17 in this movie. But now Mandy seems to be a legitimately kinder and more beautiful person that Hollywood hasn't ruined.

Now I understand why people don't get into relationships when theyre sick. It's exhausting having to get sick, get healthy and tell a boyfriend then break up, get a new boyfriend and get sick and healthy and sick and whats the point having to explain anything to anyone again ehen it IT is what it is and Is what it isnt😢 My second time LITERALLY watching this again because of my own personal life and my friends TOO

Love this movie. It’s a sweet love story. And this is such a sad scene. But I always lose it laughing so hard. Because of his smiling after she says she’s sick. It wasn’t even an angry smile that says “why didn’t you tell me”. It was the kind where he seemed happy. Hahaaaa.

Stephen Chow is the only Director I know who managed to put Action, Martial Arts, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Romance, Fantasy and Crime, in this one film. Movies generally stick with 3-4 genres. But this one was way ahead of its time since 2004 even today it's an absolute masterpiece. What makes this scene so powerful is that it shows both him being good in the past and being bad in present, a person who wanted to live a good life by helping other people, only to notice that when he tried, he ended up failing when encountering bad people, so he thought the only way to achieve success was to become a bad person just like the bullies, and whenever he tried being bad, there was always that one thing that prevented him from being bad. Another thing I loved about this part was the music fitting in perfectly with each scene. 1:07 you can sense the vibe of the music getting closer as the mute girl tries to communicate to him asking if he remembers her in the past. 2:12 you can see from her childhood hand holding the lollipop transitioning into the present, and the music fits in perfectly which makes this scene hit so hard.

The fact that when Sing was telling his fat friend about his past when he learned Buddhist palm Kung fu in his childhood, and that he was beaten by bullies for saving someone, and at this mugging scene when he remembers that the person he helped was this girl, was a amazing narration and relation of the two scenes👌👌. We need more movies like this.
