The Italians probably need to stick to things they seem to know something about like race cars, designer dresses, and shoes because they totally fail at coming close to the haute horology of the Germans and Swiss. Italian fashion watches are overpriced brand or jewelry junk.

Just as a point of order, you are doing Braun a disservice in your description. Braun has a full range of electronics and small appliances, ranging from coffeemakers to radios to calculators. All of them suffused by a specific design language that sets them apart from their competitors. The watch shown is definitively one I would consider.

super informative, though missing Ricoh and Sanyo as former watch making brands, which I presume today are highly collecibles. Obviously the singlest largest brands of them all are Casio and Citizen.
