I had the good fortune of seeing Ella live in the 1960s and 1970s. She was an amazing talent who was even better in person. She set up standards that even today, who could match? Ella was a giant in the music world and left an incredible legacy. Sure miss her.

Great Talk Show Mike Douglas!! Back then they Didn’t use The Term But we Know it as A Minimalist, Today What Bobby Daren Became!

Weird not seeing Duane with his Twangy Guitar. He was still a good player.

listen very carefully at 13:59. His voice breaks on the end of the word "Mississippi." That's every singer's nightmare. When it happens, it's always our own stupid fault. It's not that the note is too high or that we've "run out of breath." It's a note easily in our range. It's own own fault because it reveals a failure, before we start the phrase, to prepare the diaphragm and make a knowingly calculated release of air through the phrase. I doubt there is another recording in existence of him repeating this lack of focus of attention. Learning from your mistakes is hard but excellent pedagogy.

What a darn shame to lose such a gifted singer. He had presence, rythm, style, character, & an amazing voice. Sinatra was too much hype. Dean was forever crooning nasally. Nat had a beautiful voice. Sammy & Bobby were TOP. From Lebanon!🎉🎉🎉

Isn't it refreshing to hear an entertainer never once say " I mean" or "ya know"! I do not know what happened in the last 50 years but public speaking/interviewing has taken a proverbial shit...

Bobby D. had such a varied and interesting career, from Splish Splash to Mack the Knife to If I Were a Carpenter. As shown by this interview, he was always challenging himself, always growing. One of my favorite of his songs was Amy, which he wrote.

Duane Eddy was touring in the UK in the mid 1960s. I was fortunate to go back stage and someone asked him whether he still saw anything of Bobby Darin. He explained that they bump into each other when we are all out shopping with our families in the supermarket. I thought that was a nice touch and reminded us that even rock stars have life outside of the music business.

Very interesting recording. Many thanks to share. what is the source of the recording, I'm interested from the historic perspective, because the concert was recorded in two versions one in MONO one in STEREO. This looks is in stereo. What audio quality did you uploaded and what is your source quality? Many thanks for your answer.
