I need an OTDR that can measure loss on a fiber with just 1 connector spliced on. The slide at 8:13 says the OTDR sends a signal into one end and analyzes the backscatter and reflected signal. Does this happen or work with nothing on the end of the fiber? I would be plugging an SC terminated side into the OTDR and the other end is just cut, un-connectorized fiber.

Trabalho com um MTS 5801, ao ligar o equipamento o cursor fica no centro da tela, quando dou o primeiro toque o cursor sobe para a parte superior do lado direito e não é mais possível mover o cursor. Não consigo selecionar nenhuma opção e ao clicar algumas vezes na tela, fica travada. Alguma indicação do que pode ser?

A test can be complete but the circuit could still fail. A pass means that the test has been marked complete and has met the pre-established transmission performance target. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.

@@ViaviSolutions thanks for your prompt response. does this mean that in the demonstration (the ones that were complete with blue tick meant that this is inconclusive? i am asking simply because we are in a situation right now were we unsure what the blue means and we are using your testers. does this mean that we need to check if our test actually failed? please your response again will be appreciated.

@ViaviSolutions I too we are facing this issue in our network and our customer is very unhappy that we can't explain this behavior. Please what does this mean when you say circuit failure? When there is a circuit failure then why are you getting a passed throughout ? Pls i need help . Can I call customer service to get help. We are in big trouble with our customer as we are lost now

What do you want to know ask me? When they're talking about battery they just mean that the equipment vrad or DSLAM from the remote or office puts electricity on the cable pair. It's normally between 48 and 52 volts.

Hello, do anyone know why this test set do not connect to hard coded full duplex? Or anyone know how to test through Full duplex hard coded, I have to change my switch to auto in order for this to work. Kinda annoying, why it do not connect. :) Thank you.
