신나샤 까딩키냐 (신나서 까 뒤집냐)지금도 경상도에서는 뒤집어엎는다는 말을 '까딩킨다'고 말하는 것만 봐도 한민족이라는 것을 알 수 있다.

"My mother thanks you, my father thanks you, my sister thanks you, and I thank you." Authentic Americana from a time and a country that is gone and will never come back. We live in the twilight of the great Republic- it was great while it lasted. JMO.

Johnny get your gun, get your gun, get your gun Take it on the run, on the run, on the run Hear them calling you and me Every son of Liberty Hurry right away, no delay, go today Make your daddy glad to have had such a lad Tell your sweetheart not to pine To be proud her boy's in line Over there, over there Send the word, send the word over there That the Yanks are coming, the Yanks are coming The drums rum-tumming everywhere So prepare, say a prayer Send the word, send the word to beware We'll be over, we're coming over And we won't come back till it's over, over there Johnny get your gun, get your gun, get your gun Johnny show the Hun you're a son of a gun Hoist the flag and let her fly Yankee doodle, do or die Pack your little kit, show your grit, do your bit Yankees to the ranks, from the towns and the tanks Make your mother proud of you And the old red, white and blue Over there, over there Send the word, send the word over there That the Yanks are coming, the Yanks are coming The drums rum-tumming everywhere So prepare, say a prayer Send the word, send the word to beware We'll be over, we're coming over And we won't come back till it's over, over there

It is not nice to threaten people who memorize your songs. What if civilization crashes and there is no computer recording of this left. 🙄 Somebody has to memorize it. Stop threatening people and instilling fear in peoples hearts and minds.

OVER THERE BY GEORGE COHAN. THE MOST BEAUTIFUL, PATRIOTIC SONG EVER WRITTEN. JAMES CAGNEY WAS SPLENDID !!! AND SPECTACULAR IN THIS MOVIE. TQ 07/04/2024.

George M. Cohan died from bladder cancer in 1942, the year the movie "Yankee Doodle Dandy" premiered. A special showing was arranged for him. It's so nice that happened for him and it was reported that he loved the movie. He was an icon and greatly admired here and abroad. His funeral was held at St. Patrick Cathedral in NYC and attended by thousands. Sadly, his sister Josie died in 1916 at age 39 from cardiovascular disease. They are both buried in the same private masoleum as their parents at Woodlawn Cemetery in NY. What an incredible talent he was. "Yankee Doodle Dandy" is definitely worth a look. James Cagney richly deserved his Best Actor Oscar for same.

This version is a radio transcription, a kind of release that was specifically recorded for radio station airplay, and it's at a faster tempo than the publicly released version. I first heard it late at night drifting in from the CBC station in Calgary and later found it on vinyl. It's either a sequel or prequel to their song "Way Out There" (A.K.A. "Away Out There" -which was covered by Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys in the mid 40s)

Buddy Gilmore was the drummer on the original recording of Castle House Rag and played a much more improvised and enthusiastic solo then is recorded here (possibly the first recorded drum solo). I wonder why this drummer played so restrained and not in the authentic style as recorded in 1914?
