Bro just refuses to use the correct grease when he rebuilds these machines... This hammer takes Bosch 1 615 430 015 grease and around 60-70ml of it if im correct. If you dont want to buy original greases just use NGLI 0 gear grease.

Judging by the commutator and the brushes its not done a lot of work. Probably because these come with too little grease in the gearbox from the factory. I opened mine up when I got it and there wasnt a lot in there. I filled in at least 30-40ml of NGLI 0 viscosity grease and it was an adequate grease filling then. Ofc never overfill these gearboxes. But bro you really should be using the original Makita grase or another hammer gearbox grease. They are low viscosity grease in the range of NGLI 0. Rotary hammers dont have oil seals on the gearboxes for no reason its to keep that liquid grease in. Hammer gearboxes need a low viscosity grease to work properly long term.

what type of grease is that? will it be suitable to use on interior components of a MAX brand tie gun? The grease that came with it is almost all gone and they're all being tuned up and cleaned. Wondering if adding some to the places there once was, is ok? And the type you recommend =)

The makita seems to be designed a lot better than the Milwaukee 6142 series. I can't access the brushes on ny 6142 without opening the clamshell handles, and I can't service the spindle bearing without ruining it by pressing out the spindle with a ton of force. Must be built in obsolescence.
