In the end it worked fine, the problem was the bad vga cable, I put a new one in and the monitor worked, thanks anyway!!.-

A minimum 3 amp buck converter must be installed otherwise no matter how many times you use the 7805 it will not work. Why can't it take amperes just voltage?
