episode 4 wasn't so bad. first 3 was bad imo. but I actually thought this one was decent, not good, not great, not amazing, not Terrible....just decent. I feel like its more a kids show but at the same time...not? They break the rule ofa lot of show not tell Im stoll open minded with this show tho

41:40 There are multiple conventions every year all around the world featuring Star Trek guest speakers and panels. One could argue it dwarfs SWC. Not to mention there are more ST movies and shows over the span of 60 years than SW. I'm not arguing about which is better, but ST is at least comparable.

I've got the original versions of the trilogy too. Didn't know the Internet had a name for this version, but these disks were included with the Limited Edition THX DVD box set sold in a metal/tin case. I heard these versions of the movies were directly transferred from the first remastered laserdisc versions released earlier.

JT, to your point about the Multiverse being a bad thing because you can just rip a character from any other universe to replace them doesn't hold in my opinion, because that's something that has rarely been done in the 4-5 years that has been the Multiverse Saga so far. The only ones I can think of right now are Loki and Gamora, but those were set up in Endgame (Phase 3/Infinty Saga) and for the most part people regard theirs as two of the better projects post-Endgame. Even regarding speculation & rumors as to where the MCU is heading it doesn't seem like that is really going to be a thing either, more so characters from Marvel live action past will reappear and that may include seeing the same actors portray the character that is from a different universe a la Multiverse of Madness (not replacing the dead character in the main universe though.) PS: Falcon and the Winter Soldier has nothing to do with the Multiverse lol

Great podcast guys. I look at The Rise of Skywalker differently than most people. If you take a step back and just look at 4,5,6,7,8.9 as one story, we are introduced to Han/Luke/Leia in Episode 4. They all get their final sendoff in Episode 9 so Star Wars Saga comes full circle for fans like me who were there in 1977. The Prequels are a backstory and appeal to a segment of fans, but Luke, Leia and Han are Star Wars to me. Episode 9 gives us optimistic Force Ghost Luke again. Episode 9 gives us Leia dying for her son while he comes back to the light. Episode 9 gives us Han redeeming his son in a ‘dream sequence.’ To get closure on those 3 characters in that way was satisfying and something I always wanted going back to 1983 when walking out of Return of the Jedi. On top of that, a Palpatine takes the Skywalker name for future generations so the irony is a pure slap in the face to the Emperor. The movie and Trilogy were about legacy. Rey and the resistance wanted Han, Luke and Leia to come back and win the War for them, and that’s what the fans wanted too. Their role was to guide the new generation just like real life as we don’t ask veterans of Vietnam to fight our battles today. I think there is so much subtext in 7,8,9 that fans just don’t see or don’t want to see (heck, I don’t know if JJ and Rian even intended it). Yes, Episode 9 moves too fast in many places and it’s vague on plot points. But this is the 3rd Trilogy and 9th movie of this Saga, so we as fans should be able to go with what they give you at this point and just enjoy.

Yes she should, she's a genius producer, it's just taken some growing pain for her to figure out how to properly delegate tasks. What I can't stand is the people who only acknowledge what they believe she has done wrong with Disney era Star Wars and anything they actually enjoy, they refuse to give her credit for. Guys she's the head of Lucasfilm, all of its success is reflected from her decisions.

The thing with this era is Vader and the Emperor. They are 2 of the most Iconic characters so fleshing out more of their story and what they were doing at the height of their power is always interesting and is always going to sell. It wouldn't surprise me if in 10 years we have a near complete year to year or month to month timeline of those 19-20 years between RoTS and ANH. Same with the Clone Wars.

man solo was kinda of alright.

This Mandalorian is the only show I’ve seen as an adult that recreates the feeling of watching your favorite Saturday morning cartoons as a kid. I will treat it as such. Sometimes there’s mind blowing, amazing episodes. Other times it’s just his travels and the people he meets. Every episode moves the story along. Some move it more than others.

Worst movie I have ever seen. It is the first time a movie has been so bad that it's made me angry while watching it. Kathleen Kennedy and Ruin Johnson should be ashamed of themselves. They have absolutely destroyed the Star Wars universe.

Interesting insight. I respect Rian's commitment to taking risk. I didn't originally ike Luke's representation but listening to Rian's observation of the characters evolution i actually changed my mindset on his viewpoints. I can respect them.

I haven't listened to the podcast for a good few months, mostly just being a bit too busy. But I've honestly missed all of the positivity coming from you guys, its a great balance to everything else that seems to come out of the internet. I think I'm going to have to go and work through the backlog of episodes I've missed... I don't really know why, but there's something I really love about the show. I also though IX was amazing, so that's cool.
