Recently picked a 1972 yds7, one of my first bikes as a 16 year old, cost me a few bob but i just had to have it, takes me back to my youth, im an old helmet now, but no one knows how old we are when we put on our helmets, great bike you have there, thanks for the rideout.👍

This 350 sounds good and in tune, One of the better sounding 350's of the videos I've watched.

Can't see the gauges much, are they even working? Do you notice the oddly spaced gearing and the need for a fifth gear which was added in 68 I think.

I would like to watch your video all the way through, but I just couldn't deal with my ears being assaulted by the wind noise. Ouch.

Sorry Patrick. This was a riding video I posted for a bring-a-trailer auction. I’ve since invested in some better mic equipment and worked on mic mounting positions. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rqmml9yIzLvXmGw.html

Nice 450. Nice roads! I love my 71' model. I tried mounting my action cam on top of my lid, but the wind noise was a killer! Bought a cheap Chinese chest mount and it's alot better

Thanks Neil! Yeah the wind noise really overtakes the exhaust note once you hit about 40mph. I recently bought a newer camera with better wind noise reduction tech and I’m looking into getting a mic to mount towards the rear of the bike to help show off the sound of the bomber. Love these little bikes!

Thanks for the fantastic ride down memory lane! I bought a new YDS-5e in 1968. One sweet screaming machine. I'm envious!!

You need a Kawasaki 3 cylinder or a vintage Honda 4. If not that, you may like a new Kawasaki but be aware they handle different than these & are quicker than lightning. Thanks for this video. Good luck.

I’ve owned and ridden kaw 3cyl and Honda 4cyls. and I wouldn’t even compare them to this bike...apples and oranges. This bike in my opinion is way more fun to ride around town than the bigger Japanese bikes of the early 70s and has fewer carburetors to work on too! Also Honda 4s in particular are a dime a dozen...you rarely see these 60s yams and I’ve personally never seen one as nice as this one. It could legitimately sit in a Yamaha museum.
