once again : u cannot make a chopper from a HD , because a HD has no frame for this project , the steering rake is too lo & again : a ape hanger doesn’t make a chopper , ape hanger we used as kids on a pedal bike just to imagine we’d had a chopper , but it was more in our heads , living a phantasy
@rastachoppers15 күн бұрын
Thanks Marine....true choppers have modified frames....good vibes
@marineforces321416 күн бұрын
why does almost every one think if he has a Harley , he got a chopper ?, … that is a speciality of Harley : that u can’t build a chopper out of it !, because a Harley has no rake for it , so u would have to weld a new steering column , & that is the point when the Co. initialized a lawsuit against all Harley owners who did so , so : a Harley owner was not allowed to call the bike Harley Davidson any more , after literally the frame was rebuild
@rastachoppers15 күн бұрын
Hi Marine...thanks for the words....true the frame is no longer a HD frame...but the engine is Harley Davidson....that's why people call them HD's....good vibes....Jordan @ Rasta Choppers
@marineforces321415 күн бұрын
@@rastachoppers right , the reason HD filed a lawsuit is because of the US Insurance policies , HD did not want to be responsible for any accidents, in case someone screwed around with the frame especially rebuilding the steering column ,anyway just a bit paint & an ape hanger doesn’t make a chopper , but I respect the effort & spirit behind attempt ❤️ to own a real chopper ist all we dream of & literally can’t wait to realize , but do not forget , life is short , do it ❤️
@rastachoppers15 күн бұрын
hi Marine...when you chop the frame and weld on the hardtail you have made a chopper.....modified the frame...you can also change the rake of the front end.

Did my first with no teacher and an old 110 buzz box. Never had a problem. Maybe knowing how to actually weld had something to do with it.

@rastachoppers28 күн бұрын
hi Summer...thanks for the cool words...around $3,500 - $5k.....getting a well running donor bike is key so find one that has been kept inside...don't use a bike that has been outside under a tarp....awesome you going to build a chopper....good vibes. Jordan @ Rasta Choppers

Absolutely right about the welding part. The only reason I don't buy used choppers. I'm good at welding but I think it's a cheap price to pay taking it to a professional.

@rastachoppersАй бұрын
hi Booth...try to reuse the original electrical harness....makes it easier...add extensions if lengthening the bike ....there isn't too much extra....all those wires go somewhere....placement too hide the wires is usually under the seat....good vibes...Jordan @ Rasta Choppers

@rastachoppersАй бұрын
hi Bro...thanks for the cool words...you should avoid 1970 - 1973 Sportsters....Harley was making a lot of engine changes...hard to get the parts for these years.
