Am i right in thinking that the hitch can be slid forward to another location so that it sticks out less? Our 1959 has an original one which I dont want to lose but its in the way of something im building for the 3 point linkage.

You can take a pin out at the back and slide the drawbar piece out and leave the carrier on the tractor, which leaves plenty of room to fit anything on the linkage

We had a 203x and if the pump is on the front ,make sure the front axle bush is good, because if theres play you will eat pumps and the shafts that screw in to the axle, also the thing infront of the front levers is the breather

I have changed the head gasket on my ferguson goldbelly with petrol engine. But the engine became much heavier to pull around than before. I tightened the nuts for the cylinder head according to the instructionbook to 90nm. Did you experience this after your rebuild?
@OliverLee390
@OliverLee390 Жыл бұрын
I personally didn't, but it would make sense, as changing the headgasket would increase compression if it was leaking before

Easy start!!....kiss of death erratic detonation will fracture piston rings lowering compression and then totally reliant on the stuff. They never came out of the factory needing it. A well serviced engine should only need heat from cold start, Is this one thermo start? I actually have a 702 and selling back actor as I have a few diggers and not required. Was told it was use in cemetery digging graves, had an easy life. lol

I have a 702 it differs from yours 23c engine but has wider back axle (?from 65) it is certainly wider than our 3 cylinder 35, the plate between the mudguards is set higher than yours, I replaced a missing ram on the power steering but it leaks wait till you try to top it up difficult to open the top and you need a long funnel to fill it! The exhaust rubs against the bonnet because it is turned to the back to avoid the lift arm.

@OliverLee390
@OliverLee390 Жыл бұрын
Make sure you have the tractor in low gear, preferably a 35 in low 1st or 2nd, with plenty of revs to prevent it blocking, but depends on your soil. Need to ensure your depth is set right too or you can end up cutting the spuds in half too, hope this helps. I've only learnt from trial and error
