Dear Rebecca. What a great video! I love the way you encourage the viewer to make brave decisions! It's not a line that went bad and spoiled your whole egg - it's a new design feature for another unique piece of art! I love to do Sorbian Easter Eggs in techniques called wax embossing and wax painting. We'll - I'm getting better but the road is long... Now my question - what dye do you use to paint the eggs? Especially the black dye and the red one in this other video of yours. The golden one looks fantastic, too!

I am new to pysanky and it was actually your beginner video that gave me the “courage” to try my hand at this wonderful craft. I only have fresh brown and green eggs. I've watched the brown egg etching. But can I use store bought white eggs for pysanki?

My dad's cousins wife was Russian Orthodox and made such beautiful Pasanki eggs. Hers were very traditional and so gorgeous. She never offered me one even though she always had a basket full in her kitchen and in her family room. I so wanted one but was scared to ask for one, thinking it wasn't polite to ask. Now, after seeing how these are made, I wish she had taught me! I would have taken to this as a fish to water. She and I were both very crafty. I have no idea why she never thought to show me how? She had 3 sons, no daughters and her granddaughters were half my age or less so I certainly would have been very keen to step in and learn. Heck, I want to pick it up now all these years later after seeing this video.
