I always sweep the chimney flu every 2 months with a flexible extending chimney sweeping brush then clean the Iron heart as shown in the video

Hi. The firebox of the ESSE 1 will accommodate a 25cm log but our tests have shown that burning logs no longer than 20cm and with a width or diameter of no more than 12cm will produce the optimum smoke-free performance.

In the late 1970s, we had an old range, much like this one. My job was to light it before going to school. It did everything you saw Fanny Craddock doing! I've got no doubt that this Esse will be brilliant. Shame I can't fit one in 😢

Your website says it uses 0.4kW/hr not the 0.2 quoted in this video. That's 9.6kW/day or 3500kW/year at today's prices that's £2.5/day or £945/year before you even cook anything. I know these aren't cheap so maybe it's only for those with deep pockets but it's all relative

Hello Denis, thank you for your enquiry. Yes we can ship to the Czech Republic, the ESSE retailer who you will purchase through is Stephan Kohn of British-Stoves.de. ESSE Bakeheart is hand built using steel and cast iron, it has a 5kW heat output. The general rule is that 1kW will heat between 10 and 12 cubic metres. Hi Matthew, Sarah's ESSE cooker is an electric model so clearance space is minimal. If you install a wood-burning model the clearance to combustibles will be greater. Bakeheart is a wood-fired heating & cooking stove with an oven below the firebox and a hotplate on the top. The bolster lid conserves the heat for stovetop cooking and the lid's domed interior enables you to steam vegetables or toast paninis.
