I would have watched this all the way through, but I'm only five minutes in and already you are repeating things you have already told us. I appreciate finding out there was an earlier version of straw dogs though. I'll have to look for it.

The glaring omission in this piece is that it leaves out the reason for the charges of misogyny. Preceding the rape scene, Susan's character is seen as tempting the workers by giving them provocative views through the window, as if she was asking for it.

I`ve watched Straw Dogs several times over the years. My take on Susan George`s part as Amy is that Amy had already been the villages bicycle before marriage and she was egging on those guys, teasing them by showing a t*ts and flirting with those guys, it also seemed she enjoying the S.A. That scene was the focal point without it I doubt they could have made the movie.

ah people are to fusy, bathing every day is bad for your skin, hygi ene yes but some shower 3 times a day, back in them days some people didnt have toilet paper used newspaper or hot water was hard to get, toilets were outdoors.

About 20 years ago, I was introduced to Ms. St. Cyr by another lady in the entertainment industry. Of course, Lily was an older lady then. She was nice to talk with on the telephone, but Lily was still a business lady...I bought a number of pictures of her in her famous poses...and she signed them for me with a nice little endearment message. I cherish them. Lily showed her breast, yes...but, she never exposed her vaginal area. Lily died alone in her apartment, only with her cats. In her final years, there was a lot of loneliness and mental instability. In her heyday, Ms. Lily St. Cyr was at the top of her chosen profession as a performer. Ms. St. Cyr was a strikingly beautiful woman!...but maybe, it was too much.
