dear stephanie, I came across your videos on KZfaq and think they are very good. 😊 You make it clear that the tone has to be in your head. I'll take it too. I admire the ease with which you play. Your breathing technique is impressive. As a tuba student (in the 3rd year) the breathing technique is not good. Restless and not efficient. Maybe you could make a video about breathing techniques? Thank you. Since my English isn't that good (I live in Germany), I had to use Google Translat to help. Sorry. Best regards, Tubamanes

Love the tone! One thing I would suggest is not cut the notes at the ends of your phrases so short. Let them ring a bit longer 👌🏻

Very nice tone and nicely varied articulation. Maybe a little more range in dynamics would be the next bit of seasoning to add to a really solid foundation.

For any students reading this: Buzzing on the mouthpiece should mimic playing on the tuba therefore the mouthpiece shouldn’t be unstable and moving around. The paper clip creates instability and it invariably damages not just the mouthpiece but also the leadpipe. Using the berp™ or using the pipe from the breath builder on the end of the mouthpiece is so much better. The paper clip adds no benefit, it only creates instability and thus having to do weird things with face, head and neck muscles to keep the mouthpiece in place. Unwanted tension. If you don’t have a berp or a pipe, just take out your main tuning slide and buzz that way, or alternatively, take out the 1st valve on a piston tuba and buzz that way. Or just buzz on the mouthpiece. Never paper clip and never with your finger over the end of the mouthpiece.

Hi, Dear.I saw your KZfaq channel and understand you are a very hardworking youtuber. Very nice video on your channel, I really enjoyed it. According to your channel, I noticed that you have good quality videos but the videos are not getting views and subscribers are not increasing. You need to optimize your channel and do video SEO to reach your target audience.

nice sound, lovely dolce playing. the only constructive criticism I would have is that you can take more risks with the dynamics and play a real forte, especially from bar 5 and then again at bar 21. Not enough contrast for me. Lovely playing though. Push your limits!
