Had to pay 60k for a boost blue FK8 in Puerto Rico, the new ones cost around 65k+
@matthowell89856 сағат бұрын
The type r is slow for the money. For 50k you can get an 815hp whipple powered mustang gt warrantied from ford. Unless you just love civics or honda's mark up crap.
@mikeblystone96884 сағат бұрын
Need at least a gt500 to beat a stock fk8 or fl5 around a track, and at the end of the day, it's not even special, just another mustang that needs brakes, suspension, and tires to even hope to keep up with either new model civic on a backroad. Meanwhile once you're at parity, congrats, you've now got a clapped out mustang and instead of being worth 50k, it's more like 20k. A 50k civic is a bad idea, a modern mustang? They dont even let you guys in car meets anymore.
@matthowell89854 сағат бұрын
@mikeblystone9688 Oh, you're talking about a track. I'm talking about the freeway. I mean, if you spend more time on tracks than you use the freeway, I guess that would make sense. I have a gla 45 6 is a hot hatch like the civic r, just awd and 100 more hp about the same weight.

I felt the the Integra Type S was better in every single way, so I didn’t play their BS games and went and bought that for MSRP with ease. It’s everything I liked about the CTR and everything I didn’t like about it. I got Apex Blue with Orchid interior 👌

Bought my 2021 Type R a few months ago. Single owner, clean title, only 10,600 miles. Championship white, gorgeous car. Runs flawlessly and in amazing condition. Was very well maintained by the previous owner. Paid 45k after taxes, title, tag fees and all of that nonsense. Blew my mind that I was paying ABOVE MSRP on a 3 year old car with nearly 11k miles. The car would of been a better deal if I bought it brand new 3 years ago. Just crazy the market right now. You definitely pay a premium for an FK8 or FL5. But my God there is nothing like them. I prefer the FK8's aggressive styling and its definitely the car for me as opposed to the FL5, and seeing how insane the prices are for an FL5 make me glad I prefer the FK8.

Don't blame the dealerships, blame people actually paying the prices. Supply and demand, it's the most basic business concept. I got my 2024 FL5 for msrp, have to be willing to travel or wait.

Why I love my Elantra N 6 speed. Wasn't hard to find at MSRP. Over $10k cheaper than Type R. FL5 Type R is awesome for sure and they hold their value well if you get tired of it and plan on selling it.

I recently purchased a 2024 FL5 Civic Type R for msrp and avoided the rip off add on items like "paint protection". Here's how I did it. I went to Honda's website and looked up the msrp of a Type R, I then added 7% for sales tax (I live in Ga). Nothing else. That number came to about $49,900. Next, I called about 80 different Honda dealerships which I found with a search on AutoTrader. I was trying to identify Honda dealers that had the color I wanted in stock. I called those 80 dealers and got a salesman on the line. This was my pitch, "I am ready to buy a White FL5 Type R today. I am preapproved for financing but will be happy to use yours if you can match the rate I got. Here's the catch: I'm willing to pay $50,000 out the door; not a penny more. Talk to your sales manager and call me back if you're willing to sell me a car at that price" About a dozen dealers called me back and offered to sell me a car for $53k to 60k. I said, no thanks. About a day later, I received a call from Superior Honda in Orangeburg, SC and we made the deal at $50k. It was a 4 hour drive from Atlanta and I couldn't be happier. Within a few days two other dealers also offered to do the deal. One in Louisiana and one in Ohio. If I were looking for one today, I would try $49k out the door.

I got one at MSRP back in October at autopark Honda in Cary, NC. Family that owns the dealership will not sell any car above msrp or add extra dealer accessories at crazy prices. Only good for North Carolina residents. I worked with Vinny and he was great. If you live in NC, give them a call. I feel bad for other parts of the country with crappy dealers.

Great buying experience! Look around and don't be afraid to tell them you are interested at MSRP and not a dollar over. They may budge.

Hi John: The reason that car dealerships are making deals at the end of the month is because of the Floor Plan inventory with the financial institution (in this case, American Honda Motor Credit). Floor plan inventory is a line of credit to finance the new car inventory at the dealership. The dealership pays the interest on the Floor Plan Inventory which is due the beginning of each month. This is why the new car dealerships are willing to make deals at the end of the month. As for the 2024 CTR FL5, as productions picks up and the dealerships will receive cars sooner to be add the floor plan inventory after it is released from the car carrier company after the car comes from port. Since CTR is limited production and other honda dealerships are willing to pay MRSP to buy car to add their inventory (when production is limited). This is why the market adjustment prices are set by the sale management team until a lot of CTRs are showing up from port and when the car is not sold. The dealership is paying the for the car (each month) to stay on the lot until it is sold (hopefully at msrp).
@LHTPerformance2 күн бұрын
Thanks for that information. It’s pretty interesting and makes alot of sense. It sucks that some dealers are very greedy and have excessive mark ups. One dealership keeps calling me ( the one that wanted $20k over) and dropping their price. I told them I’m still in the market for one as I’m interested to see their approach. They have dropped it to a $15k mark up as of now.
