One lovely car ! I would be driving it all day..... I have an Austin 7 Ruby and a Pearl, my modern car is getting a flat battery through not being used !

I always enjoy your drives out in the Standard Teignmouth. A couple if very sweet changes down fron 3rd to second. Second to first on that bend really shows what youre up against with an non synchro 3 speed box! Beatiful scenery too.

from Val - Lovely sunny morning in Bristol, It was cloudy here in Watchet then quite heavy rain from about 2 pm for rest of the afternoon. Your Car looks good Tom - nice to give it a ride around. Love from us both to you both.

Tom's car seems a fine starter in this cold weather. It takes a skilled driver to get out of the garage safely! Its good that both of you are!

Tom fitted a new battery in his car !. Tom drives the Standard down the driveway and reverses up, and I reverse the Singer down and drive it up -That way the cars overlap at their front ends in the garage They just about fit in alongside eachother, and you can squeeze past between the front wings ! Tom is very good at reversing , but I am going to get better at reversing going forwards !

I have an electronic flasher unit that has the sound of a traditional click of a bi-metallic unit! Readily available for suppliers. I drove along that road when I did the "End to End" run in April last year in my Austin 7, that is a nice road that is old-car friendly! Thanks for sharing!

She seems to be running very sweetly, charging well, oil pressure sufficient and temperature at ' normal ' !.

Yes I was checking too ! "Buffy" will be getting a new battery soon . The starter cranks the engine slowly in the cold. The same battery when Tom bought the Standard seven years ago.

We fitted Andre Hatford shock absorbers- dampers at the front which helps. These were fitted originally in 1929 but were missing for many years.

As an owner of a 1934 Standard 12 saloon and former co-owner of three Standards of the 1950's saloons (passed my driving test in one) and former member of the Standard Motor Club, it is good to see you out and about in your Standard. Excellent! Thomas, Devon

Tom - "My parents had a Vanguard Estate in 1952 up to 1964" - Me and my twin went to Douglas's garage in 1964 with my father-I never forget it-- aged 10 to change it for a secondhand Vanguard 3. They gave him £50 for the old blue estate, and he had to pay £250 for the 1956 Vanguard 3 saloon.

This was the first show Tom drove his Standard to in 2016 - the Singer came too. This was the Bus Rally which used to be in Bristol near Airport Road years ago.We used to go in the Bubbles Mike.

Hi Mike Yes, we enjoyed it ! It was getting a bit hot in the afternoon - so everyone started to go home quite early to put themselves and their cars in the shade !

Yes Mike we used to display all the Bubbles together ! We drove to Castle Combe sometimes along those little B roads - scattering rabbits and pheasants.

Hi Mike. That Bullnose Morris Cowley was a very rare "doctors coupe" model as well. A couple of the American cars are seldom seen... and the 1922 Ivy motorcycle of course !

Its getting back to the good old days then with car shows happening. Pre war cars are welcome down here this coming weekend for the WSR's !940 event all along the line..
