I remember seeing these guys on club calendars. Really good. Kind of similar to Riot. Did they put out any albums?

Their name was _"The Boyzz from Illinoizz"._ And they were from St. Charles, not Chicago.

Do you guys remember that really cool white shirt Dan use to wear in so many of his concerts ? He gave it to my husband Tony and he wore it in our wedding. If I come across it, I’ll take a picture of it. We really loved going to see the Boyzz. There hasn’t been anyone else like them , and we sure miss them.

I have a story for you that I’m sure you haven’t heard of before… my friend Dena and I went downtown St Charles to a closed down gas station where the Boyzz use to practice on Main Street close to the catholic chapel in town. We were there talking to Dan and he asked us if we could go to his /grandmas house where he lived to pick up the box of tee shirts. Well, the front and the back door was locked and no one was home but we found an open window in the back, so we went through it. Next time we knew was some sounds from outside and we looked out the window and saw that there was police all around the house. We went out through the window we came in, with the box of tee shirts and the police were there to see what we were doing there. The good thing was that it was a small enough town still and we told them Dan had us go to get the shirts. Well , they knew the Boyzz well and they let us go , after they talked to Dan . He just laughed at what happened and all was good, but I tell you it scared the crap out of us.

Hey, anyone know who webseller757 is ? Am I the Judy who is in question ? We moved and yes Dirt is my cousin, and my husband, then boyfriend use to go to every Boyzz concert . I haven’t kept in touch with him in years now but I tell you, they were the best band, high energy above and beyond all the rest.

I was talking to Dirt a few weeks back, he's trying to find someone who can transfer the tape he has of the whole concert. A format that the TV stations used back then. Hard to find.

So much better doing this kind of Deep Purple stuff than some of the other boogie woogie things on the debut album. Used to teach at the same guitar store Mike Tafoya did--he was a huge early influence on me. Great player.

This was from a series called Live From The Agora Ballroom. It used to air every Friday night after the 11:00 news in Cleveland Ohio. At the time i was 13 and i couldn't wait for Friday nights to bring killer performances by the likes of The Boyzz, Eddie Money, and The Charlie Daniels Band among others.

I saw these guys back up a big band at the amphitheater and they went down bad. The singer is just not a very good singer and everybody knew that and just kind of turned the other way and waited for the better band to come on. Plus this is just a reworking of speed King by deep purple. Not much talent here compared to the competition they were up against with bands with much better vocal range than this hack. That's probably why they never made it and ended up working day jobs. 🤡
