Worked in a place where we ran Carolina skiffs 24ft ers. We ran OMC 70'd & 90's. The run to the other side was 1.5 miles. The 70's would put run those 90's every time. Those old 70s were one of the best balance and output motors on the market for a long time. Just sayin

70 mph is crazy fast for that lil boat, LOVE IT! But I got a question you might or might not be able to answer, I’ve said it for a little ago but I’ve bought a 1 seated, 1980 Winrace 13 which is a 13 foot mini race boat and I’m gonna have a Yamaha 9.9 two stroke (ofc) on it, it will be raised so I would need a surface prop but my question is. Is the boat able to plane with the original prop? Will it surface drive or will the prop just give out? On my boat a cleaver is mostly use and that’s what I’m gonna try to get hands on. Thanks a lot!!!

@@a3_Beats not sure. 9.9 is pretty weak for a 13 foot. I would put a 40 on it! Props come later

@@throttleguys hey yeah ik but it works! The Boat weighs 60 kg and its a popular Boat here in norway, but my only question is if an original Yamaha 9.9 prop can be used as a surface prop?

@@throttleguys yeah! It’s a 1980 Winrace 13 mk7 with a single seat, Bought it couple weeks ago for 500 bucks which is a dam good price for it! Currently just bare hull but I bought a Yamaha 2 stroke 9.9 hp for it and since it weighs nothing it will fly with such a small engine! Got big plans for it and I can’t wait to get it on the water

None of that fiberglass that is laid down over that gel coat is going to hold If you don't get it down to raw glass you're just going to get a delamination

Do you use same fibreglass and resin? as flat roofs?

There are different weaves of fibreglass for different applications. Not sure what flat roofs use. Here we used fibreglass mat for fillings, and cloth for the bottom coat. You probably use fibreglass cloth. The epoxy resin is definitely similar. Possibly the same.
