Wholeheartedly agree with Chris' thoughts on Werewolves. Always thought they were cool since i was a kid but never found them scary until i read Those Across The River and i haven't looked at them the same way ever since. This was a great episode 👍

Oh, I cannot wait to read this book. Ugh. That being said, I've had this discussion with my parents, my wife, my children, and many of my friends...but I am the type of person that would NOT change any part of my life. I feel that I am the person I am today, BECAUSE of all the choices that I've made. And, I'm happy with my life. Now, my life has not been perfect, but I wouldn't/couldn't KNOW which choice would've gotten me a better life, than the one that I've live. Be true to yourself. When I was a young adult, I watched the Star Trek: Voyager Two Parter, called The Year of Hell. In it, it deals with a device that is able to change the future...and it scared the hell out of me. No thank you. BUT, I do want to read the book...and I'm interested to see IF I will be the type of person to JUST read it through WITHOUT making any choices, or would I be daring enough, since it isn't MY life...that I do make choices. AND, if so, what choices would I make...and would they actually have been better. Hmm? You see...I really DO need to read this book. Thank you for this wonderful (and creative) interview. I have LOVED everyone of her published works...and she is ALWAYS and automatic buy. Thank you.

I think a lot of the pet peeves boil down to cases where the female characters are flatter - every female fits into some kind of box of stereotypes (they embody all the stereotypically feminine traits, they're fulfill the female roles - sex worker, mom, love interest only), and all the diverse characters (the support tech person! the mentor! the antagonist!) are male by default. Where male is the default, I guess is what I'm saying.

This is your friendly reminder that there are more than two genders :) Thank you as always for the interesting content that makes me think more about what I read. I definitely want to check out Stephen's books now. One of the things that annoys me is when a female character is supposed to be "strong" by not liking any female-coded pursuits. They all have to wear trousers and hate embroidery. Some of us like knitting *and* swordfighting. People are messy - that's what makes us interesting.

Good interview, got me interested for his current trilogy and the Coward. His approach of making all the main events historically accurate remind me of Tim Powers books and his 'secret history' approach

Yes, This thing is always there, that westerners expect from Indians only write stories around Indian myths and folklore, or about Indian life in literary fiction. The same thing was said by Salman Rushdie in an interview.

@@larquel2 I started The Daughter’s War today, I have to say I miss Mr. Buehlman’s fantastic narration but really it is the great writing that matters most. His performances are magic. The Lesser Dead is super, narrated by Buehlman. Between Two Fires was great, the audio narrator sounds like the actor who played Boromir in LOTR. Buehlman has a youtube channel where he narrates that book too but I already read it.

Really you liked this book? eragon - to sleep In a sea of stars is amazing. The book had me wondering why it was written. I get the metaphors for each character, i get the deep meaning behind it, but it added nothing to the fractalverse. Maybe in future books, Paolini can connect Alex to Kira, but this answered no questions and added nothing.
