@@TimothyFluegel hey now I think it was a major mistake when Allis went out of business. But the company that bought them out ironically makes Kubota. I miss the small farm I ran. It was just a little 100 acre farm in Tennessee near Cumberland Gap. It was wild using that ‘57 CA to rake hay on some insane hillsides. But hey it hung right in with me. I always said if you could get either the CA or 6060 started up a tree they wouldn’t stop pulling till they got to the top. I do miss farming but the land owner had to sell a large part of his farm. And wasn’t able to keep me on to run the rest of it.

That's weird about the choke, but I guess it is what it is. Knowing yours does the same thing, I'm gonna stop messing with it 😆. It definitely sounds awesome with the straight pipe. Not to loud either you can stand to run it some how lol. So far I can say that the stalk strength in the pioneer is no good. Doesn't seem to be meant for cultivation. I finally got through it on Saturday with the Buffalo soldier, it was only about 3ft tall and it was breaking off from the cultivator 🤦‍♂️ some of the viking was 5ft tall and stood right back up. If I cultivate the pioneer at 5ft tall I wouldn't have any corn left. And I had to got about 1mph or the dirt would break then off at this point in the viking I'm going about 5mph tossing dirt at the corn like the speed of sound 😆 🤣 😂. In all fairness though I have no idea the health of the soil. It could be I'm lacking something, I did put 6tons power acre of chicken manure on it. And it could be the wetter conditions. But the small sections that drain well seem to be the same so I'm kinda excluding that hypothesis. I've I get soil samples done I have a better idea I guess. But as of right now my opinion is it's crap for organic practice 😆 thanks for watching and commenting my friend.

🤦‍♂️ ya know instead of being a smart ass about things you could have just asked why the traction booster wasn't working correctly. This is the 1st time this chassis had done any work that a traction booster is needed. When we hooked the plow up and went to adjust it we realized at some point someone welded the 2 plates the linkage hook up at the pump together for what ever reason. The spring was missing as well. And the linkage was broken and kinda repaired, and as we found out later, it was not the correct length anymore, the one that goes to the coupler. Main reason we were down there with it was to see how it was running after the valve job and throttle linkage. But we couldn't get it adjusted correctly either pulled the plow out without much draft or wouldn't do anything. Part of it may have been the spring wasn't the right tension as I just found one on the shelf at short notice to see how the tractor was running. But the main problem was the linkage, I've since replaced it but wouldn't mesh with each other. It was getting different readings, we'll call it, from the lift arms and snap coupler. Once we realized it would never work right with that linkage, on top off the fact We were kinda pressed for time, we decided to just get the 190 which was the plan to begin with but, like I said we were itching to see how the 230 was running, and I wanted to share our misadventures with you guys. I guess I should have explained all of this, but I feel like I talk to much in some of my videos as it is.

@@TimothyFluegel wasn't being a smart ass, Ive just watched 100s of these Allis Chalmers out plowing, looking bad because people either don't know how the traction booster works or even how to operate it. The traction booster system, when engaged and working makes these tractors amazing pulling a plow. When I seen the weights on the front, my first thought was either they pull with this tractor, or have tried plowing with before and the front comes up. When engaged the front end will maybe dance, but it won't come up.

@RJ1999x I know what you mean there. I've been to many plow days that I've had to help people with their traction booster so they aren't looking silly out there lol. I've got a friend that runs 5 14s on a stock gas wd45 with 13.6 tires. 😆. He's the person who taught me how to set these correctly. The weights are from pulling on the front but in the tough clay we run the traction booster a little weaker than most would and use the weights to hold the front down. Other wise you end up with the plow pulling out and only turning 2 or 3 inches in the tough spots. We run then like that to get a more consistent plowing depth. We can generally plow circles around other colors and we usually are running an extra bottom compared to the Ms, Gs ect,ect. It's not until you get into the 70s tractors that other colors can attempt to keep up 😆. All that being said I fail to ad context to videos like this and end up making myself look like an idiot sometimes 😆.

@@TimothyFluegel I've never seen a 70's era tractor that can plow alongside an xt with the traction booster running. No tractors of that vintage, that I ever used had a draft control that actually worked

​@@RJ1999x😆 I said 'attempt' to keep up. This year at plow day I was plowing circles around the 4020 and Oliver with same plows. The 4020 had a pull type but the 190xt was out for a light stretch while the others were in a full blown workout 😆

We have a d19 governor and all the fixings to go on it. The gas 230 motor is going to come out and the 230 diesel motor we have built in the shop will go in it. That's when I'll tear the front off the gasser and put the 19 governor on and back into a different chassis. Diesel of course.

This thing is a wd45 on steroids. To think that when allis was developing the 45, they built 6 with a 230 and 6 with a 262 and sent them to testing grounds. They opted for the cylinder 226 due to fuel economy. I can imagine if they used one of the 6 cylinder engines, the 45 would have had a big silly fuel tank on it for sure 😆 and if it had a 262 they could have marketed it as a 5 bottom tractor. This tractor is a beast for sure Robert. The rain this spring has been relentless around here. I pretty much had to force this corn in 😆 I still haven't been able to cultivate it. I hope to get through it today finally. I know citron woods could grow that big but it's just so rare to see one, as a kid I airways assumed it was an oak tree, but it's quite a bit bigger than the old growth oaks trees on the farm. @TimothyFluegel Yeah it was really wet around here too. Was 3 weeks late planting my sweet corn, and ended up mudding it in. Didn't come up and had to replant. It's only about 12" tall now.

​@@Rdrake1413you aren't far behind me on the sweet corn. We finally got ours in on the 18th of June. We usually do a 2nd planting on or around the 10th. So ours is the only about a foot tall too.

That's pretty much it. They call it a filter strip for the creek, and also to help hold the ground together, but it got done yes in it and they wouldn't pay any more, I'm curious what does a better job at holding ground together that some trees 🤷‍♂️. Around here, land is about 300 an acre to rent, so that is about what they pay an acre on it. But I'd much rather take my chances and farm it. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!

Yes it was. After he got to looking at it closer. They had a tack weld holding 2 pieces of linkage together that needs to move freely, the spring was missing. I think you pointed that out. And everything was adjusted completely out of wack 😆. I think he's got it now. And stop telling every one the 190s dirty little secret 😆 🤣 😂 just kidding, the high side is toast in that tractor for sure lol. I hope to get the rear end swapped before fall. But we'll see if that works out for me.

I thinks it to late to try this year. But that's definitely something I'm going to keep in mind for future years. It's only a couple acres down there and x the only ground i have that stays wet. It wouldn't be to hard to make a 2 row crimper. Thankyou for this!

In the past few years I've cleared around 20 miles of fence line. The farm was neglected by revers for almost 30 years. I simply haven't made it to this field yet 😆. And it yielded 45bpa some how. I figured out would be around 15 or 20. But when your talking $22 a bushel I'll take 45bpa.
