Oh my. 0:38 the short guy got the tall guy. That is simply epic. I always thought of uchi mata as the tall guy's cheap throw but this is pure awesomeness.

It looks more like a hane goshi to me actually, as she is kinda locking uke's right leg.

Nah, Inoue's Uchi Mata was the best by far. It looked the most powerful, most technical, fastest, most controlled and he finished on top in Tate Shiho Gatame.

All those uchi mata-s we saw were made during a competition and you can never get the perfect condition to perform a technique in competition ... And since it's competition they sweep their leg with full strenght and fall over the other person to make sure he's in a hold/or falling on his back... and what makes you a 100% technician is being able to perform any of the techniques in multiply situation ... not only in perfect condition

Has a Canadian, it's hard to see again and again Inoue's uchimata against Nicholas Gill... but it's an amazing throw!

Perhaps this is the post-Koga seoi collection? Korean player at 2:37 shows Koga's one-handed technique nicely. And 2:15 shows his armpit grip version.

Great choice in music too, now whenever I hear this song I think of Judo and what a great sport it is.

Except that is pointless to do in a competition. For one, the judges may not score it an ippon because they may feel it does not meet all four requirements of an ippon. (Flat on the back, control, speed, and force.) Beyond that, if you don't get an ippon right off the throw, you just gave up a perfect opportunity to have an osaekomi. Competition isn't Kata, and I'm quite sure every single one of the judokas who threw uchimata know how to do it with perfect form in demonstrations.
@mustard..11 жыл бұрын
i didnt like any of them. in order to be a 100% technique in my eyes... you must not perform a makekomi. you throw uchimata without landing on the guy. if youre still standing when the uchimata is over with, you are a true judoka and a true judo technician.

Uchimata, also known as "Kintama tsubushi" in Japanese. It can be translated in English as "Ball smasher" Women's version can't be called the same from obvious reason. ^_^
@Absurdword13 жыл бұрын
@TheKoenzo Actually looking at it now, I'm pretty certain it's not an uchi mata, just because if you pause it late at 1:14, white gi is already high in the air getting thrown, and blue gi's foot is still on the ground and doesn't lift up until white gi's momentum carries blue gi over as well. If it were an Uchi, blue gi's foot and leg would've been (or should've been) parallel to the ground in contact with white gi's inner thigh.
@TheKoenzo13 жыл бұрын
@noose357 It really is an uchi mata, the guy prefers having the arm around the head and if you look carefully, you can see his leg is swooping him

I'm sorry, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 1:14 more of a kubi nage/koshi guruma instead of an uchi mata?
