Jason is your windshield 15" or 17" ? Is that the Dark Smoke or Clear? Did you move it up and test it again?

That was a 15”. I did move it up and loved it. I have since sold the bike. But the windshield was great, easy to just pop off if it was a really nice day.

23:47 holds seal upside down and points up saying metal ring side up. Doing this job please compare with old seals! The larger seal gap goes DOWN to capture pressurized oil to force the sealing surfaces against the fork tube and inside of the lower fork leg.

Hmmm. Will have to look at other videos. I’ve done that job three or four times. Maybe I thought it was already covered. The seals have a right and wrong side. If installed the wrong way they will leak oil. But seating them is pretty easy. I have a tool for it.

I"m debating ordering these as touratech is one of the few companies that make racks for the 2024 models, apparently they changed the exhaust and a lot of the side racks no longer fit. Wondering if you think they would interfere with a pillion riding 2up? I am looking at ordering the 45l for both sides.

my friend a question. The manual recommends changing the fork oil at 15,000 miles for my scout bobber, but the dealer says it's optional. What do you recommend doing or not? It's a little expensive, it's $500 just to change the oil. At this point there is no oil leak.
@jasonshortphd
@jasonshortphd 4 ай бұрын
Yes. I do it every two years. It’s simple. You can do it yourself. For simple oil change you don’t even need to pull the forks off. Just take the top off and insert a hose to suck it all out and refill. $500 is way too expensive for that service!

The Odometer is on all Tigers (handled by the ECM). The TPMS is a factory option. I don't think it is using bluetooth because it takes a special tool to turn them on and off for pairing to the bike.

Great vid, Jason. Super informative. Where did you get that caliber piston rotating tool? I can’t seem to get my pads to retract back far enough and the pads are constantly rubbing on the disc. If I jack the front up and spin the wheel, the friction quickly slows it down. Mine doesn’t spin nearly as free as yours. Is there a way to lube those pistons? Or is the copper slip to help the pads retract? Sorry, that was a lotta questions. 😅 Great looking bike. Mines a ‘20 Rally Pro.
@jasonshortphd
@jasonshortphd 10 ай бұрын
I got the "Motorcycle Brake Piston Pliers" off of Amazon. They are a great tool to rotate the pistons to help break up corrosion that builds up on them. And yes, it also causes them to not retract as well also. There is no lube for them directly. They have rubber seals inside them caliper that are probably dirty. I pump them out almost all the way, use brake cleaner on the pistons and then push them back in a couple times. The copper slip on the back of the pads helps with squeaking of the pads when you apply the brakes. They vibrate a little against the metal of the caliper. The other thing that can impact retraction is water in the brake fluid. If you have a 20 you are past due for a brake fluid replacement (every two years). The fluid absorbs water from the air, and will become more "spongy" and stop working as well. It's easy to do as well. One bottle of brake fluid can do front and back.
