Just with my two cents as a medical assistant first and went from paper chart to electronic. The medical assistant is the one who puts in all the diagnosis when we do the FSE , Upper body’s and biopsies . It’s already coded for us we just click what we want like for FSE we will have Lentigos , Nevi , Hemangioma , SK for pretty much all exams and all we have to do is click the option and then click the site there located and all the codes and stuff are coded for us already. The provider looks over the chart at the end and finalizes it but the medical assistant puts in all the charting. Of course they can tell us to change something or whatever the case may be ❤❤. I’m actually a dermatology pathology coordinator at this time and started as a medical assistant. I been here 5+ years . I’ve dibbled in insurance , prior authorizations and I’ve done just a little coding not much, but I’m very interested and I have the knowledge. I’m thinking about taking the CPC certification at my local community college . If I can’t get in with my current job because we don’t do billing in office how would I get into just doing dermatology coding . Thank you for this video Will be subscribing

Hate that I missed this live but glad I was able to go back and watch! I have to just say, I also have horrible migraines I was having them 15+ days a month and my neurologist put me in emgality and it’s been a life saver! Just wanted to pass that along!

It is interesting to me as a senior patient that all the information on the Medicare Wellness Visit is all about coding so Drs. Can make money. Nothing for the patient. It's all about finding out if seniors are competent and can have a weapon. Government trick.
