@angelagamache6625 I did take some leaves in the previous weeks, didn't plant these as a cut and come again which you can get a few harvests before removing.

We had the same thing. They destroyed our beets last year despite trying to remove all the eggs and squishing the worms that hatched. This year we planted them in another bed and covered that bed with a see through mesh. We aren't at the end of the season yet but so far so good.
@terrykingsallotmentgardening
@terrykingsallotmentgardening Күн бұрын
@MrStringsandthings they are a pain and I have even seen them on my parsnips this season. Removing the leaves and taking them away from site is key to stopping them from coming back next season.

Good show, cheers Tel, I got 5 rounds of harvest off my broccoli, 2nd was heavier than the first, 5th was lots of small flourettes but still enough for 4 meals off 7 plants, trick is to cut above the leaf node under the flourettes

I've seen a few people grow Pongo beans but I can't find the seed anywhere. Is it available in the UK or are they ordered from overseas please? I would love to have a go at growing them. I've had just 2 beans from my Cobra- about 2 weeks ago, and am hoping they will re-flower and produce more. The plants are growing well- nearly to the top of their support, but sadly no beans 😞I love beans and they are almost my fave veg, just behind kalettes. Great video and fab tips, Terry. Thank you. Love and best wishes to Sandra. Happy gardening 🙂

Hiya Terry. Lovely bean harvest. I am growing Pongos for the first time this year. They are still too small to harvest but I hope they won’t be long. I also have a dwarf French bean growing called Hestia. Again first time, so we will see how they compare. I left a cauliflower a couple of days too long and just got it in time as the curds were spreading. Things happen so fast. Great tip re the newspaper. All the best. Mags.
