But why Kaya don't supply this string for their bows?🤔
@RoyMcAvoy2 жыл бұрын
I just got myself a 50" #35 WindFighter bow. The bow is awesomely fast and quiet. Just that the brace height is lower than my previous bow and I do occasionally get string slap.
@kito962 жыл бұрын
How do they avoid string slap on the face?
@KpopLyrics3652 жыл бұрын
Because the archer is twisting the bow with gripping hand and by thumb ring paradox of double steps, string slapping on the face cannot happen. Please don't worry about it. Thanks!!

This is awesome, thanks for sharing! How many arrows does each archer shoot in total? What was the winner's score that day?
@KpopLyrics3652 жыл бұрын
Traditional Korean archery event round consists of 3 ends in general. And one end consists of 5 arrows. Because this event is for grade promotion among from the 1st grade to 9th, there was no winner. There is minimum points for each grade, and the archer stops shooting any time in case they shot qualified score. In case of normal tournament, there happens perfect score of 15 points of 3 to 5 archers. In that case, there will be shoot-off game to the final. Thanks!!

Why is the Bow raised and help for a moment over the head?…thanks in advance.
@KpopLyrics3652 жыл бұрын
As far as I know, that physical formation helps to draw the bow more efficiently by using the gravity and the scapula for full draw. As you may know, the draw length of traditional Korean bow is much longer than recurve and compound bow. Looking forward to more advanced explanation from somebody of the expert...

@rooroo92162 жыл бұрын
4:03 So am I correct in saying the arrows don’t stick in the target, they hit and bounce off the target and the judge in the tower decides wether it’s a hit or not? And are the arrowheads blunt, I think I’ve seen a few that looked blunt, I’ve never actually used any bamboo arrows but I’ve always wanted to try some. I love the Korean horsebow/traditional bows though, I have 1 Freddy Archery Black Shadow and 2 White Feather Forever bows, both are 60lbs strength (yes my form isn’t the best, but I can handle it and for the better speed, range and trajectory it’s definitely worth it! :D). I’ve watched a good few videos about Korean archery and I’ve noticed - You guys shoot reeeally really far!! Do you find shooting that far improves your accuracy at closer distances at all? I’m from Scotland and I live near a forest range, we have a forest course we walk through there and we shoot different targets at different distances and heights. The furthest I’ve shot is 80 yards. The only thing is it’s a one way system, you never walk back or risk getting shot by the guy on the previous target!😰 A lot of people here tend to use a mix of compound bows, flat bows, long bows and full size recurves (takedown recurves too). There’s only 4 people there I know including me who shoot these kind of Korean horse bows and one of them who shoots off both sides and with the thumb ring. I shoot off both sides, both the left and the right hand sides, use the thumb ring and right now I’m kind of working on my khatra too (I get mixed results, probably because I keep mixing all my arrows up).
@KpopLyrics3652 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comments. Because real target is very big size (2.7M height), it will not be easy to take back the arrows hit on upper part of the target butt. So, arrow bouncing with hit or miss target is general rule of official tournament. In case of hit, the target judge announces the hit by flagging. I think the long-distance shooting(145M) has some historical background. Old military of Korean dynasty were focusing on fortress-oriented defense strategy than attacking by horseback riding and shooting. And military examination and martial exercise were also concentrated on long-distance shooting from ramparts.
@rooroo92162 жыл бұрын
@@KpopLyrics365 Yeah that’s a good point actually, I’ve got a fair few of my arrows stuck before in tall target frames and backstops (we have a moving “guillotine” target that comes down to retrieve our arrows from, 1 of mine has been stuck in the frame for about 2 years). I take it somebody eventually retrieves any arrows that fell short on the field or went too far past the target? Mine tend to get buried underground easily since it’s quite strong. Yeah I can see why they would want to keep the enemy at bay and deal with them as far away as they can, being confined to the fort. The horse archer is more agile and can get away with being closer, get in, hit the target and then get out again. Thanks for these videos and insight btw! I always find it interesting how archery can be practiced different, but also share some similarities across different countries and cultures across the world and what they were useful for too :D

I recently received a daylite arsenal 53" 40# The bakelite outer laminate was cracked and sticking up for about 2" on one side and 1" on the other. After searching KZfaq for ideas I tried araldite standard ultra. Scraped as much original glue as possible off and lightly sanded both the wood and bakerlite sides that would be meeting. Light coating on both surfaces then clamp up with pvc strip and fiberglass strip to keep the pressure as aven as possible. Last night after 16hrs setting with bean bags to keep the repair warm I strung the bow and gingerly tried it, slowly warming the bow up as it was brand new originally. Got to about 30" draw and all held together ok. The snapped laminate was on the compression side which is probably the better side to go as it's getting pushed into the bow but as a bow exploded on me last week ( I like shoulder anchor point ie 33"+ draw) so do tend to push the bows to their limits ...and beyond in that case🤷🏻♂️. I will bind the damaged area to add piece of mind on both sides incase it would put the bow out of tiller. 🤞It works. Good luck with your bow if you have a go at repairing it 👍. Excellent video, a true bow developer is wisdom and experience 🙏 many thanks 😃

@KpopLyrics3653 жыл бұрын
There needs no special temperature setting level. In case of keeping horn-bow inside storage box, about 5 degrees celsius higher than external temperature is enough. Special dehumidification is also not necessary because of this gap between internal and external temperature. Kaya's expert CEO guided like this!! Thanks!!!
