If there is a video for people to learn how to make metal music in general (not necessarily in FL Studio) this is the video they need. There are so many little things in here that you thankfully pointed out right at the start that took me a few hours each of confusion to research and figure out how to fix when I started. Kudos

Thanks man. I got some good tips from this. My band is @DepthsofAetherium if you fancy a listen to what we do (Melodic Metalcore). A copuple of questions: I usually put my compressor at the end of my vocal effects chain, but you put your first. Any idea why one of these would be right or wrong, or is it not particularly crucial? Did you know that (instead of recording them at the end) you can consolidate all of your best takes by right clicking on the playlist track that they're on and clicking "consolidate track"?
@RaneMusic12 күн бұрын
It depends how far down you put the compressor. If, for example, you really put it at the very end, it's also going to compress the reverb and delay, so every time you'd stop singing, the reverb and delay will shoot up in volume. If you put it before those types of effects the difference is MUCH less noticeable. The only thing I can think of is putting it before or behind the EQ that could change the outcome. Sometimes your signal has low-end rumble or other annoying frequencies. That's when you use an Equalizer, right? Now, if we put the compressor BEHIND the equalizer, the compressor is going to compress the Signal we want (because we already took out all the annoying frequencies), but if we put the Compressor BEFORE the Equalizer, it might react to the low-end rumble in a way that we don't want. Therefore, putting it behind the equalizer might actually be better. Ohh I totally forgot that you can consolidate tracks xD That will be such a time saver not having to re-record the spliced take, thanks :)

@@RaneMusic Ahh, yea I didn’t think about the compressor affecting the reverb and delay. I’ll try putting it behind those types of effects. Thanks! How did you learn all you know about FL? I’ve been amateur-producing my own music since about 2009 and have gained all my knowledge from trial and error and KZfaq tutorials. I’m now starting to think that some sort of online course would help me to refine my knowledge and skills but not sure whether it’s worth it or not. Any opinions on that?
@RaneMusic12 күн бұрын
@@TheBigLezFanChannel I also mostly learned from tutorials as well as Trial and Error. I did study Audio Engineering at the SAE Institute Stuttgart, but I can safely say, they didn't teach me anything I couldn't have learned in tutorials.

@@RaneMusic I’ve been thinking about making a video showing my whole vocal recording process, not only so that beginners could get a few tips, but also so that I can hopefully get comments about what I’m doing wrong/ could do better. I’m at the point where I can get fairly good results, but feel there’s still a lot I could learn to make the process quicker and easier. Apart from your video above, there aren’t really any about vocal recording methods.
@RaneMusic12 күн бұрын
@@TheBigLezFanChannel That's a good idea. If you end up recording it, feel free to come back here and tell me about the video so I can watch it and maybe I can give you some pointers as well. Just make sure to word it in a non-advertising way. KZfaq likes to automatically remove comments asking for collabs, sub4sub or "check out my channel" comments

My friend asked me to make a layout with this song in Geometry Dash, cuz he wanted to decorate it, and he is really bad at making good gameplay. So he asked me to build it, and OMG this song is just so good! I really enjoy building something with this, although I'm mostly building dubstep layouts, and not a big fan of smth other than EDM. But this just got me! Awesome work bro!! ;D❤🔥 Btw, the layout is still not finished, I only made like 18 seconds xDDD
