Thank you for showing your revenues, most people aren’t that transparent. My channel also earns roughly around $300 monthly.

The caching theory is really interesting. I think it could be tested by scraping the recommended page and checking response times when clicking on the videos that are shown. Could have some interesting implications too. For example you could just open a bunch of VPN connections to different locales and force the server to keep your content cached. Although that would probably land you on the KZfaq naughty list ^^.

Anecdotally, I have definitely noticed that older videos with low view counts (that I usually find by clicking through on someone's profile) are often very slow to load, implying that they are indeed far down in a cache somewhere. In relation to your theory about using VPNs to keep a video loaded in the cache: I suspect that the cause and effect works the other way. Videos are probably randomly pre-scheduled to go into the cache based on some probabilistic quantity that's calculated from how good a given video is. Also, I suspect that KZfaq is incredibly good these days at detecting 'inauthentic' viewership through things like VPNs.

I think it was still a good experiment. A lot of those videos are ones that I would probably never have gotten around to producing otherwise. It'll be interesting to see which of the 30 videos perform better over the long run.

I like your live streams, and I suspect for viewers that were subscribed, they got a notification. Once they went into it they decided they didn't want to be notified so they unsubscribed. KZfaq's inflexibile notification and subscriber management means that people may behave in a way that optimizes their use of the platform rather than voting on the quality of your content. One suggestion: make the goal of your livestream compelling and start them quickly with an inviting start... I think people are more likely to watch them if you are making or learning something, and learn from your experience, rather than just watching you talk live. Im fairly hooked on your content and delivery style at this point, and looking forward to spending more time with your channel!

Thanks for the detailed feedback. Yes, I think I could definitely make the livestreams more engaging. I really need to get more equipment and work on my tech stack before I can make that happen. For now, I'll probably just keep doing the low-quality talking/update livestreams. I'm also pretty bad at multi-tasking, so for now I'll probably just keep doing the streams where I focus mainly on chat.

I actually love the liunx command line shorts! But I’ve seen from other creators as well that shorts are poor performers as far as revenue because of low cpm. I like the info, but maybe it’s better to present in a log form video?

Its good to see the continued efforts to congratulate the graduates coreutils, shell, and util-linux, and whatever else misc. commands or packages... Congratulations, keep up the good commend-work. id like to thank those runner-upper names from the earlier merged packages: textutils, shellutils and fileutils.
