How far do we bring back the handle in the downswing in that flailing, head closing motion?

I have been to GRF one year ago. The lesson was great, but Like Marcus always says, It's the begin of a journey. So ist took some time until the new swing settled in. But now the results show, my Handicap went from 9.2 to 6.3 (and I think there ist more to come 😬). And, more importantly, I hit my Irons so well, which was the main reason vor my visit. Additionally, through the body movement, my drives are definitely longer than before. One my Homecourse there ist a bunker which i couldnt get over since many years, now I can again! I'm 64 now, and I was wondering, If I should really change my swing at my age, but I'm so glad I did. I feel that I really hit the ball as good as never before (and I play the game since 47 years!). So, I can definitely recommend a trip to Doncaster to everybody, it is worth every quid! Thanks again Marcus, you are brilliant!

Such a great lesson I just don't understand why other coaches just don't teach this way. People would enjoy golf alot more if they can strike the ball as they would like too. I occasionally play these days but frustration just gets the better of me and has done for years. Great lesson again Marcus.

I'm in abit of a pickle I have the board I'm pretty good at doing all the drills but it doesn't translate to my Swing (steep in transition, early extension to shadow the club with a flip roll) and because I believe in marcus's teaching so I won't go to a PGA professional over in Ireland 😂 any advice Marcus?

Top drawer, passive arms reacting to the pivot, I've had and lost this feeling so many times over the years. The deeper I get the club behind me with good wrist hinge the easier it is to use only the pivot.

This is the main issue of the whole system. Not duplicating the motions as on piece, vs the forces and torques driving the motion… creating the separation of club, body and motions. Just my perceptions. Small motions creating larger momentum.

I have been leading the stride with the Left Heel for years. It leaves the Femur Internal for longer. Something to Hit Against. For me, the the key is the differential between the Fall and the Rise. I know you like to use the Ball of your Foot, but after the Ball Pressure the Heel Strike Sends a Spiral Wave through the Body. For me anyways..

Hello Marcus. Thanks for your videos and the great explanation, I have developed a much better understanding of the golf swing and a better feel for my swing. Many thanks for that. Is there any chance that you will come to Germany? I would love to support you with a stay in our beautiful region. I think there are many fans in Germany who would travel to an event. Why do you want the left knee to point inwards in transition? Watching slow motion of tour pros they just don’t do that. They all have the left knee pointing to the target.
@Melted_Butter15 күн бұрын
It’s not about positions. Marcus does that to get the right chain primed in the right sequence. It’s teaching the students body how to activate the right chain.

Marcus…I’ve recently experimented with this with favorable results, but I definitely want to get your thoughts on the matter. What do you think about applying ground force reactions like that which you teach with a front weight loaded swing ala stack and tilt? Effectively the backswing is just the front load drop and pop move. Thank you in advance for your response and all the great utube material.

Ive been watching for awhile but am struggling with this move. My swing thought is left foot, right foot, left foot. Are my arms suppose to be passive and follow the body or am I suppose to be actively throwing my arms?

Would you say this is the most fundamental part of the golf swing , I can’t stop thinking where my hands should be attacking the path/ball

Hey Marcus, this maybe a tad unfair as I only see a short clip but I’ve noticed recently that a few of your recent pupils appear to try and race ahead and therefore come across as not listening and you needing to pull them back. As a coach it must require a good bit of patience and a possibly a symptom of pupils watching your videos pre lessons. Great info as always, cheers

I agree, it does look like some of the students are not paying close attention, and this has to frustrating for the coaches. Cheers.

Bit of a grey area as to whether this client was impressed by his shots towards the end of the lesson?
@GRFGolf19 күн бұрын
His movement changed a lot, very challenging for the pupil but his striking and flight improved to meet his desired outcomes. Everybody responds and reacts differently. This is also just a snapshot of a 3hr lesson. These lessons are a real deep dive into movement recognition and self organisation so it's mentally and physically challenging. That's how we create real long lasting changes with the player able to self regulate through a new found awareness. Sometimes it doesn't always look 'hollywood' and that is real life 👍

I’ve seen countless videos that say the opposite (right foot pulls back to move the right hip) is what moves you into the downswing and the left foot pushes into the ground and towards the ball to clear the left hip. What are your thoughts on that? Or is this just a different “feel” to create the proper shear force that I’m describing?
