@@snowman307 , that coil is used for the Coin Relay. The Lock Coil is a Z-28-1200. The coin relay activates when a coin is put through the coin mech and it trips the switch. Think of the Lock relay as an On Off switch that trips off when you kick the bottom. The coin relay activates and provides power to the machine which activates the lock relay to keep the machine on until it gets tripped by a kick on the underside. Watch your shins!!!

Is the z35 4200 coil different then the z28 1200 because that the z35 is what is there.

@@snowman307 , you mentioned that it all starts when you hit the left flipper. Are there 2 switches that get pushed when you hit the left flipper? Does the machine reset every time you hit the left flipper? Does the machine light up as soon as you plug it in?

@@snowman307, the Z-28-1200 is meant to stay energized with no harm. The Z-35-4200 is only meant to be energized a few seconds at a time and will burn up, or blow a fuse) if energized for too long.

@@snowman307 , that coil should be for the small bell, and not a dc coil. The chime bell should be a C-26-800. If either of these coils fry, it usually means a playfield switch is staying in contact and not allowing either the 1 pt, 10 pt, or 100 pt relay to release, thereby releasing the chime coil. Another possibility could be that one of the EOS (end of stroke) switches on the score reels aren’t getting opened to open that circuit. For more guidance, the A2-23-750 would point to a 1 pt or 10 pt problem while the C-26-800 would point to a 100 pt problem. Hope this helps!

Could the reason it fried was it the wrong coil all along?And should I replace it with the c26 800 coil?.The old one had a plastic piece on top the that wrang the bell.Any help .Thanks

@@snowman307 Once you verify which coil and chime is 100 vs 1/10 pts, you will know what to order. Be sure and request a long sleeve for the coil, and it won’t hurt to order the plunger as well. The sleeves often melt and sometimes the plungers can’t be removed. Hope this helps…

I believe they are 47’s. But you can use 55’s in case the clearance is limited. 55’s are the same bayonet base, but don’t stick up as far as the 47’s.

Well found a screwdriver replacing the missing coil.Would they of done that because of the not having The coin slot activated.

That’s a weird way to set up free play. Most would bend the blades. That may be why that coil is gone. They likely burned it up.

@@forrest_lost2650 , These machines were reproduced in the 80’s. You can most easily tell by the castings and Wood condition, and other tell-tale signs. The 25 cent was most reproduced.

Being in the US, this one was 120 vAC standard plug. It will depend on your machines wiring/transformer.
