The greatest commercial ever. The love story between these two has stood the test of time😂 All these years later and people still talk about it

First time I’ve heard something inspiring coming from an Ornament Jam...was beginning to think it was the first Soma device I’d not gotten excited about! Awesome sauce

@@porfiry I just purchased the Pulsar earlier this week through Earworm. So I've got that base covered. I know what you mean about gear though. I've been downsizing the eurorack I've accumulated.

Instantly subscribed. Awesome noises! The ornament 8 seems crazy. I love my pulsar 23, does it help production? Very tempted but have no idea what it is really. This is great

It's definitely an unconventional sequencer, I'm not sure how it operates either!

This is by far the most informative and accessible video I’ve seen of the potential for the ornament 8 controlling the pulsar , excellent work on a great ‘live’ piece - and in also helping show the usability of the O8 👍

I recently got my Ornament-8 and although it is not as easy to connect with 3.5mm jacks as to Pulsar or Lyra, it is a great instrument and it feels very intuitive!

Yes, it’s an extremely unusual sequencer, capable of things I wasn’t expecting.

Very nice performance! This is the best example of Pulsar with Ornament that I have seen. Such a cool patter that would be difficult to do with Pulsar alone. Keep the videos and kusic coming!
@porfiry2 жыл бұрын
The capabilities of off-kilter time signatures and being able to introduce probability with CV are pretty conducive to making more natural patterns. And I love the looper, but it can get "off" pretty easily...the Ornament brings an end to that for sure.

Hey, in my opinion, you can never have too much FM fuckery and ill-advised filtering! ;^) I love my Ion dearly, even though I have the occasional "ghosting" problem (i.e., parameters mysteriously changing themselves). It's too bad Alesis abandoned manufacturing and supporting the Ion after only a couple of years. A few more years of dedicated development and fixes, and the Ion would've earned a place among the greatest synthesizers of all time.

nice! dbx on or off?
@porfiry7 жыл бұрын
I think on, or it would have sounded a lot worse...that was right after I got the thing, and I was running a free tape through it that was a sticky, squeaking pile of shit. I don't think I even ended up with a real mix of this, because I had to have a repair done right away...the L/R assigns weren't working at all. Not even sure how I got it to half-ass mix like this. I've been enjoying running some bad voice-grade tape through it (Irish 241, a real classic) and hammering it pretty good with the dbx on, since the hiss is unbearable without. Makes for some very nice dark, thuddy vibes. prisonmouth1.bandcamp.com/track/funky-p-vue BTW, you guys have majorly fed my desire to have a 388, love your vids. Thanks for costing me extra money!

Well, it looks like there's a clock and the vertical 16-step out plugged, so I think so, but I don't know what's actually coming from it and what's coming from the noisering. There are also various 4-step Z8000 sequences going, and I know something is going to a slew and then tweaking the "shift" in on the µScale, which is the source of the trills that make it sound so tasty.
@onceuponasynth12 жыл бұрын
holy shit this sounds amazing! Is the z8000 sequencing the melody here?

µScale, which I've already traded for a Quantimator, which just went in my case today. Not sure whether I made a good trade or not! µScale is quite awesome.

Complex waveforms + low pass gates = organic sounds. That's why softsynths or something like a Virus kind of pales once you've gotten a taste for modular! Glad you like it.

I really liked the sound of this very much. Please forgive me for saying it reminds me of the sound of a distorted guitar ;) As a guitar player first, I still have a warm spot for feedback, distortion, and delay effects. What can I say :D
