I never understood why Anne hated her hair or why the other characters criticized her about her hair when I was a child. Loved her hair as a child. I remember I use to want her hair color as a child.

I love this entire series from beginning to the end. I do have my favorites. This was the first & the scene that hooked me. I love all these characters & kudos to the staff that chose them all.

Anne is so cool. Would you rather be divinely beautiful or good or smart? That’s a good question. I would rather be smart so I will always know what to do

This is one of my favorite scenes in the whole show. The contrast between Anne's self-assurance and imagination and Matthew's shyness but enjoyment is just perfection.

When you're invited to dinner, "I'm vegan, I thought you knew" is hardly adequate notice! Well, in this crowd there's plenty of blame to go around.

I don't agree with organised religion, but I actually felt sorry for Nancy in this show. She did seem like genuienly a nice person, who was trying really hard to be happy, and struggling to do so. She had a lot of guilt and wanted to be a "good" person, and was trying really hard to convince herself everything was fine. She had no idea the kind of family she was getting involved with.
@lylamiklos Жыл бұрын
The whole family is pretty awful, but I did have a chuckle as a UU to see this come up in a TV show.

So unorganized religion is better than organized? Most Western religions involve congregations, in case you didn't notice. The hermit movement in early Christianity didn't last long, though hermitages are still practiced here and there. Or maybe you're OK with doing religion with other people as long as they're not organized? Solitary spirituality is perfectly fine, even praiseworthy. But when one of its practitioners asserts superiority over other modes of worship, I require reasons! Because I have never heard any good ones. Generally a criticism of organized religion gets passive assent. Not from me.

It was my iPhone recording the screen of my desktop computer that played the ceremony from the broadcaster’s website the day after. A friend of mine appeared in the In Memoriam segment and I wanted to record and share it with friends. If the SAG Awards had posted the segment to KZfaq I wouldn’t have bothered, but sadly they didn’t that year.
