I have a personal theory about the hidden Yosuke romance route. I'm not sure if there are people who still don't know this, but you can have a poly relationship with Marie in P4G. My personal theory about it is that Atlus had worked on such idea for Yosuke, but they doubt if people in pre-2010 would accept such a thing.

Persona 4 is inevitably going to get a remake just like Persona 3. When that happens, I hope the developers at Atlus will have realized their mistake, and allow us to be gay for Yosuke.

That gives them a chance to to finally make a yosuke route which l really hope they do and focus on the chemistry of love of this route like they do the other romantic routes with the girls and even these unused lines imply they know how to make good romance route and even a yaoi one if they gave it a chance let their fans have a win for once but l also kind of doubt it especially since this was made in Japan that and atlus kind of wussed out on this since Japan wouldn't really approve of gay stuff but still this was a missed opportunity even in persona 5 there is still no romancing the boys route so l kind of doubt they will ever make a boys romance route unless you have the option to be a girl and then you will be able to romance the boys like the only time they would actually allow the player to romance the boys is when the player chooses to be a girl in the game and that was in persona 3 so unless there's a girl option romancing the boys as a boy in the game might be out of the option unless Atlus finally Has the guts to go through with the boy's romance route in this remake or they might prove me wrong l hope they do though

Time for a rant about Atlus dodging gay romance options in Persona games: They "wussed out" on gay options in P4 and worse made Kanji Tatsumi a big uncomfortable running gay joke. Then they, "No homo bro" as well by saying "It was about rejection not gay or straight" despite the "I'm a guy. He's a guy. But, did he say he was interested in me?" Only to find out "le shock" he's a cis female. 🤦P5 they yet again copped out with Goro Aketchi at LeBlanc "Honey, I'm home." that ultimately goes nowhere. Then wrote it out completely in P5R instead of expanding on it in the social link. Then in P3Reload they flake out yet again and only give you 2 options to be a complete insensitive jerk to the option. I do not hold my breath for P6 being any better. Thanks for the pretty music box to accompany this lament Atlus. The proof of this dodging is a leak from the cutting room floor seen here in 40 beautiful seconds.

Seriously though, this *needs* to be in the game if Persona 4 gets the reload treatment. It completely recontextualizes Yosuke’s homophobia as a defense mechanism to hide his own feelings, and Yosuke is without a doubt the closest “bro” to a protagonist out of 3,4, or 5. It wouldn’t just be pushing an agenda or something like that; it’s a natural conclusion for this character

If p4 gets a remake it has 2 choices to improve Yosuke’s character: 1: remove all the homophobia, or 2: add this romance. Only one and not the other. The romance could’ve made his character arc 100x better and make it seem like all the homophobia towards Kanji was just projection

He’s so… redeemed after this. Yosuke would have been so well rounded and complete after acknowledging that he’s bi, especially considering how he treated Kanji about him being queer.
