Let me add my thanks as well (and subscription! :)) This happened while I was away and I didn't relish coming back to working on my 2012 Mazda 3. I pulled the air filter last night, and that didn't help... was thinking it might be the fuel filter, but came across this video this morning and I knew as soon I saw you start the cut and heard it cut out the same way that this was probably the problem and solution. Thanks again!

Did not think it would be the mass airflow sensor for me. But it was! Surprised a faulty sensor kills the car like that.

@ashmandom9793 If the car can't measure how much air is coming it, it can't figure out how much fuel to add for combustion, so it shuts down.

This happened to me, as I got the bearing set for E92/E60. Now, here is a quick question. I have the rebuild kit gor a V2 diff, but will actually rebuild a V1. Per the photos, the large bevel spring has hole for the V2, wheras the V1 does not. What I would like to know is if the sizes are the same despite this holes so I can use those clutches for the V2, to rebuild a V1. I see the number of clutches and dog gears is now the same between the 2, with the only difference I can tell being those holes on the large bevel spring. Also, one pf the dog gears is thicker than the rest, is this also de case for the V1, or only on V2 kit?
@mrgizmo7975
@mrgizmo7975 4 ай бұрын
Hey Mau! The one with holes is v2 and it is thicker. I would not use it in v1 lsd and ask racingdiffs to send you the correct one. You will over(pre)load if you use in v1 lsd. On v2 you can adjust preload and breakaway torque via the screw on end cap, in v1 you can't. That said, they are constantly changing their kits, and info I have is about a year old, so I'd definitely reach out to them to confirm. Possibly they streamlined some processes and started sharing more parts between v1 and v2 units depending when you ordered the kit, I don't know. Clutch pack and dogs should be same between v1 and v2, but again, they could have changed something. Sorry, this might delay your rebuild :).

Thunderhill is very easy in terms of no walls and you just go plow the field. Plenty of space. During rainy season, though people get stuck and sometimes flip cars depending which way the wheels dig in while spinning. But overall low risk, fun track. This was east side. There is also west track which is slower speed and a bit more technical. Both fun in different ways. Whereabouts are you located?

What kind of tire wear are you getting after a semi drift - autox day? You cording the rears and have multiple rears in paddock? or they lasting since you are not full out linking every corners and sending it? Running my first drift/autox event on the 4th at Sonoma and trying to decide how many tires to take.
@mrgizmo7975
@mrgizmo7975 7 ай бұрын
I'm not sending it full throttle in 3rd gear and linking all corners, I just introduce some slip angle to make it fun. Tires last longer than expected, I'm on ps4s, and they expire before I cord them. I've done several years of these events and driving to/from track (this is my street setup) for several years and they are maybe 1/2 life. So depends on how much you send it. I'll be at Sonoma on Sunday with Speedsf as well, it'll be wet, so not much worry on tire wear. Let's meet up.

EBC Brakes is trash. But I'm grateful for the Yellowstuff that almost killed me, because it forced me to recognize getting very safe brake pads was worth the price over cheaping out. EBC's pads are the only ones I've tried that felt like a DOWNGRADE compared to stock. I also went from craptastic EBC Brakes to Endless pads. I run Endless CC-Rg for the street, and have a set of front ME20's to swap on when I intend to do severe driving.

Yeah, I heard a lot of complaints about EBC, even yellow, which are more track focused They seem to crumble and fall apart. I used reds initially because when I bought the car it came with them. Endless pads are amazing in comparison.
