Been using the M50 for street photography since 2018, and it just takes care of business. Small, light, very responsive… I recently purchased an M5, as the M50 has started developing intermittent issues, but I have found that the M5 is not as responsive and the M50. The M5 is a bit laggy from pressing the shutter to actually capturing the image which is a bummer. Having said that, the flip up screen on the M5 is great for using as a quick waist-level-finder, and so I've started using the M50 in the day, and the M5 at night where things don't have to be so quick. When my M50 finally dies, I will replace it with an M6mk2. Canon are so stupid to have discontinued this line. Just this week I was shooting a red Carpet with my 6Dmk1, and saw another shooter, a woman using an M50!… Such a versatile little camera…

Hello fellow m50 user :) yeah its a beastly little camera I use it for everything these days! even some wedding stuff. I like the 6d and 5d. Looking to potentially get one of those at some point. I couldn't agree more they where very stupid to end the line, trying to get us to purchase EOS R!!! :) thanks for the comment!

Very nice photography. A ckuple of wedks ago, I managed to drag myself out from Manchester to Crosby beach early Sunday morning. I don't know what had happened there the night before, but the place was a mess, litter and beer cans etc all over the place. It was sad. I have a feeling that the dreaded 1970s are coming back to the North West. We have had a bunch of guys in power for so long that just dont give a damn about the North West of England and all that goes with it. Lets hope for better days.

I couldn’t have said it any better! It’s really sad to see. The beach at Southport is basically a cricket pitch these days just full of grass 😂 and the occasional polluted tide. Thanks for watching! I’m heading up towards Manchester in a few weeks for another street photography session.

@zaptosemedia3 ай бұрын
Hi Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it. The opening video is a commercial for the canon 300D, I did nothing in terms of processing other than increase the temp and contrast in Davinci resolve. The film like look is because the source footage was recorded of off a video tape I think so had some natural degradation due to age. Hope that helps you! :) thanks for the comment.

Nothing complex about the Zone System - quite logical in reality. Works much better with film that digital but it can be used for both. The system doesn't create high contrast but a full range of tones. Keep practising.
@Chloe111245 ай бұрын
I definitely found it complex/confusing to look at/hear about 😂 probably one of those things that makes sense once you get the hang of it and definitely something very interesting that I look forward to using in the future though. I agree, practice makes perfect!
@lensman57625 ай бұрын
With all due respect, what people call Zone System these days is just a highly watered down version of what Adams and Archer invented. If you really wanted to understand how it works, and it is not difficult at all but highly involved, I would advise you to read Ansel Adam's book The Negative, and then The Print.The Zone System is from Camera to Print and all were based on the concept of visualisation that Adams pioneered. He would print with consideration of how the print would be displayed and what type of lighting would be used. The notion of meter for the shadows and develop for the highlights is just a consequence of the application of the Zone system. Contrary to what the other guy said, it is as applicable to B&W film photography as it is to colour negative, transparency and more so to digital. @@Chloe11124
@raybeaumont76705 ай бұрын
@@Chloe11124 Adams just followed the old old rule ........ expose for the shadows - develop for the highlights.
@zaptosemedia5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the advice on the books, I will definitely check them out! As for it being watered down I agree completely. The take home for me ultimately was to be more mindful of how I expose my images. As a self declared “noob” I feel like learning and understanding these sorts of things will ultimately contribute to better images from a technical perspective.
@lensman57625 ай бұрын
I can assure you that it will also help with the artistic side of your photography , knowing how to achieve what your minds eye has seen. Adams's photographs are not just technical masterpieces, but they are photographic art of the highest order which do not rely on fads, fashions or cliches. Good on you for being so open minded. @@zaptosemedia

NIce job. One of my favorites is Sally Mann which brings in the additional challenge of wet plate printing but the range of tones in her work is amazing. ..and how to approach that in the digital world. Somewhat sepia-ish I suppose
