looks like a waste of all that milk, butter and garlic. IMO it should be consumed with the corn. Seems like the milk should have been a whipping cream and the water should have been poured out 3/4 of the pot, then add garlic, whipping cream and butter and let that simmer with the corn so that when removing the corn, the garlic sauce comes with it.
