So the Orion OGs and NGs are Hybrid-Electric, but the EPA10s are Diesel. I think the 2010 budget cuts was the reason they had to go back to ordering diesel. It took almost a decade before they could finally order more Hybrid-Electrics, and then Battery Electric buses, on a gradual basis.

I love Chicago's system, there's so much to see and the rail cars themselves are interesting, especially the 2600-series. The bus system out there is also vast and runs well(from my experience).

But either the pilot was unsuccessful, or there was no room for more artics at Kingsbridge and the depot couldn’t be expanded, because the Bx7 was then assigned to fully use standard buses again.

Everything has completely changed in 2019-20. When the 2019 New Flyer artics were delivered to Manhattan in order to provide more USB and Wi-Fi in the busiest borough ever, the 2010-12 artics there at the time had to be displaced. Around that same time, the B1, B38, and Q12 were all in the running to get artics to handle the crowds. MTA then decided to move the Novas to the Bronx instead of Brooklyn & Queens, and give the new routes 2012 New Flyers artics from the Bronx to maintain the New Flyer flow in Brooklyn. So all units that were originally delivered to Gun Hill, Kingsbridge, and Tuskegee Airmen are now at Casey Stengel for the Q12, Grand Avenue for the B38, and Ulmer Park for the B1. Casey Stengel also began to use its 2017 artics on the Q12 as well, that were originally delivered there for the Q44.
