Dad bought a 69 Corona. Actually had Nippondenso AC! It was red. Took my behind the wheel test in it. Got a little shaky at freeway speeds. Bent all four wheels on Minnesota roads... Lol. Quality was a bit low for Toyota.

Wow, how times have changed! This Corona came from the days when big gas guzzlers with 400+ cubic inch engines ruled the highways. Boy, come five years later, reality dealt us a giant blow. Gas prices shot up, people got rid of their gas hogs and snatched up little Japanese imports like crazy. It was a sign of the times. The automotive landscape in America was changed forever. The imports were here, and here to stay.

These were made from '64 to '70 with 1500cc to 1900cc and a few cosmetic changes and configurations. Amazingly successful cars, especially considering cars and fashion changed quite a bit during that time. Beatles 1964 vs 1969 for instance.
