Add a high flow muffler on the pipe and watch it fly, drill some holes top of airbox, cut snokel, even remove restrictors each side in carburetor venturi powerband comes alive

anyone know if there is a cilinder kit (like a 180cc or soemthing) for the mk1? and do parts from lets say a mk3 (engine parts like the cilinder or headlight clamp etc..) fit easly or plug&play even on a mk1? because i have a mk1 arriving soon at my house but i cant seem to find parts for it? im in europe btw

I have a 2002 rm85 I’ve built from ground up and fully uk road registered it ie full lights etc I’m possibly hopefully dropping a deposit down today on one of these 500 quid but it’s pretty rough and been used as a field bike for a few years but I’m genuinely excited I’m 24 and my dad had one of these when I was younger plus I’ve never rode a 250 2 smoker before so hay ho

Had one in the 80's in black, I also re-covered the seat in red, great bike lots of little tweaks to give it a bit more go, sadly got nicked never to be seen again. I had another about 15 years ago, very disappointing power wise, very restricted CAT fitted etc, I did a few mods that Inc de-catting, bypass the restricted power value, moved it on afer a few years didn seem to have the same appeal as my first DT.

Lush. She sounds sweet. I bought a brand new DT125R in 1989. It was fast but had a very disappointing top end. So glad I learnt about how to alter the power valve.

Is that a little Boughton or a Hesford winch on the back of her? We have a larger Hesford on the back of our '42 Farmall & a bigger Boughton on the back of our '54 Major.

@@wezdarsit One of my biggest regrets was when my brothers sold our High Major with a 2 speed Automower winch. We had fitted a P6 in it in the mid 60s and, bar a pump & set of injectors, that engine never had a spanner put on it and it led a hard life in and out of the woods hauling huge loads on our 4 wheel trailer and ex-army pole wagon. She was a true beast, loved her.
