At 20:12 the fuselage in the background looks like the Vickers 1000. Looks too long and slim for a Britannia. Does anybody know?

Also another shot shows a Viscount in the background, suggesting that the background is Vickers.

Harsh realism and good acting, as is to be expected from an English film.

Typical, colonial era movie with the occupiers being brave and locals as scheming. Keeping that aside, it is an enjoyable movie in an exotic location.

Not very good! the basic story line is okay though unbelievable at times. In the Original Hitchcock version Joan Fontaine won an Oscar for her role. Only Oscar ever won in or by a Hitchcock film. Cary Grant and Joan Fontaine are the best actors for the main parts. At the end of the Original 1941 version, the viewer is left with doubts about Johnnies real intentions.....

I was friends with the son of the member of the cast who played the most tragic role. In his adolescence he was drawn to the hyper masculine, so far as identifying as "Nazi". It made no sense to us around him, but when I saw this film, the chip on his shoulder was revealed. Not directly related to the film, but amazing the seeds we unwittingly sew.

Terribly acted except for Jack Taylor and Kenneth More's performance, meddled up shooting with lots of wrong angles and confusing zoomings, inconsistent locations. No way you could get a Natural History Museum in Iceland in 1908 (there were only few fishermen's villages with mainly metallic and wood huts and warehouses) and dinosaurs toys made of plastic were already pathetic prop in 1977. But all this can be forgiven on a very low budget movie. The story is of course good because taken from the famous book Jules Verne and the movie adaptation of the script is also acceptable.

JFC I'm down in the comments, hiding from the greenhouse bit. WHY TF is that the most replayed?!?! Edit: The last movie I watched was the dark knight in cinemas. This was as visceral and brutal as it gets. I really wanted Carlin to kill that screw at the end and he was ony in the movie for 5 minutes.

A German official named Georg Ferdinand Duckwitz leaked the information about the planned roundup of Danish Jews. Duckwitz, who was a maritime attaché, was sympathetic to the Danish people and opposed the Nazi regime's actions against Jews. He warned Danish political leaders about the Nazis' plans, allowing the Danish resistance to act swiftly and organize the escape of Jewish families to Sweden. Duckwitz's motivations were rooted in his moral opposition to the persecution of Jews and his respect for the Danish society's values.
