Why do you run so much material through the combine?
@CatesFarming
@CatesFarming 6 сағат бұрын
We try to minimize what we can. But had some heads hanging lower that we would miss if we raised the head much higher. So had to deal with the extra material to make sure we got everything.

I’d be willing to bet, most of your viewers know how drainage tilling works, either from other KZfaq farmers or like myself being born and raised on a grain farm.

Tile videos are always cool. The purple line that goes off to the right, that must be the main drain ?

Yup! That is a 10” main that will end up handling most of the field.

Congrats on the 1,000+ subs 🙌🏼🙌🏼!! If memory serves me correctly I’d say your total wheat yield is North of 8,500 bushels 🤔. My mom moved to Southern IL years ago, her 20 acres are adjacent to the Shawnee National Forest, just around the corner from Garden of the Gods. Beautiful area down there, unfortunately it’s still in IL 😂.

@CatesFarming

I don’t have exact part number but the concaves and inserts that we run are actually aftermarket ones. They are the XPR concaves made by Estes.

Why dump the last load on the auger wagon and not directly onto the truck?
@CatesFarming
@CatesFarming 4 күн бұрын
We track everything through the scale system on the auger cart. So needed to run that grain through, in order to know exact weights and store it on the iPad.
