I prefer the Strike King Rage craws. They’re not as elastic or durable as the Z Man, but they don’t melt during the summer. You can get way more mileage out of the Z Man as long as you store them carefully during the heat

I have the same one. I absolutely love it. I mounted 2 4" rails behind the seat by those pole holders and mounted a 2x4 across with T bolts slid into the rails. That now holds a trolling motor and its far back enough to still paddle with the motor tilted out of the water. When it's down the handle is right there in the perfect spot. I have the battery in a wooden milk crate off to the opposite side as the motor. She tracks beautifully. Adde two rod holders and a cup holder to the stock rails and it's an absolutely epic setup. The wheels bungee in the back behind the crate.

From the look of your video it doesn't look like your pulleys are doing anything, leverage-wise, other than lifting the kayak evenly, which helps. So your system is doing the work of holding the kayak in such a way that you can lift it at a single point. You're still lifting most the weight. If you are lifting something "up," and you want to "pull down" to lift it, you need at least three leverage points.
@HOOKEDoneFISHING Жыл бұрын
Later after working with this system, I've found that lifting one end at a time little by little is much easier than trying to do both at the same time. I've just never ended up doing a new video to show this.

Do you think this would work for hoisting a 17’ canoe? How snug can it get to the ceiling? My maximum height is the bow depth which is 22”. I have about 30” to clear my garage door.
@HOOKEDoneFISHING Жыл бұрын
Depends on the weight of the canoe. I think it might hang below the garage from the measurement you just gave me. I have about 16'' from the top of the ceiling to the kayak (space for pulley and rope).

I own two of these things and after struggling to raise my kayaks for years, it finally dawned on me what the simple answer is. Bring the two robes to the center of the kayak so that you were pulling towards the inner part of your garage. Then pull one rope at a time while the other rope holds the locking mechanism in the release position while the first can slide easily through it. Now just alternate pulling the ropes.First, the ropes are going to slide through much much easier. Second, you’re only lifting half of the boat at a time which makes the job again, easier. Try it.

Yes sir you are right, I just never did a update video showing that.

Still good as new, I think I might put a chain around it instead of the strap, just in case it snaps due to the heat in my garage.

for the Viewing simplicity of your Audience , you could have placed a sheet of white paper, behind your aquarium, then we could have watched the action of the bait when it was in motion, off the bottom. for future videos..

It would have been easier to mount it inside the hull, then you wouldn’t have to remove the transducer to come onto a concrete/launch at a concrete boat or shallow rocky shores.
