Raad shoes are Legit. they nailed the design variety and it got me many compliments. they're not comfy to wear out, toe box is a little narrow, the material is not bad but but feels thick and hard. Great for deadlifts and squats and not good at all for walking around. It lasted me around 2 years ish of consistent gym wear and tear before it broke and i just threw it away.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with them! I find them fine for walking around but will see whether they last more than 2 years or so!

I’ve always thought the Aftermath pickups were really cool in how they allowed players to get a boiling hot Metal tone with Tube Screamer pedals, especially with how most passive pickups seem to sound better with other overdrives such as the Boss SD-1, which I would argue from personal experience is the best boost for passive pickups such as the Duncan SH-5, Duncan Distortion, Duncan JB, DiMarzio X2N, etc.

Do yours have normal eyelets like the retail 70s? I ordered some and theyre nice, but the eyelets are dull/matte looking. They look like they belong on a pair of all stars. Im kinda disappointed by this, but otherwise theyre good. Based on this video, yours do look right. Idk why mine are so dull, there's two choices, silver or gold right now, and I selected silver. So idk why mine look so different.
@flailhead9 ай бұрын
Ive had a closer look and they do seem to have a slight matte finish, but it's hard to tell. Sorry to hear yours came out different to what you expected. With custom converse you can return them within a set period (I believe) no questions asked, so if that aspect is a deal breaker then maybe look into that?
@BraveProgramZ9 ай бұрын
@@flailhead Thanks for the response, I really appreciate it. I was just surprised to see this as there's no indication theyd be any different from retail when going custom. Glad to know mine arent a unique situation though. Overall mine look great, so Im happy with them.

@@flailhead If you have a retail pair of 70s, the difference is obvious. So if youre looking to get another pair, you’ll see what I mean. It’s no big deal, but a warning or something on the customizer bit on the converse website wouldve been nice. Other than that detail, theyre just as good as my retails. I live close to a converse store where 70s are stocked, so I see them a few times a year when I drop by and I own retails of the dark beetroot (dark red) colorway.

First set action, then correct intonation. The brass saddles move in a circular motion and therefore not only up and down but also back and forth. It's a bit finicky but I kinda like that bridge

Great guitars. But with black knobs and black bridge, they should've put black pickup covers or naked ones with black tops. I just built one like it. Same hardware. I put a sun burst on flame maple veneer.

Did you finish the top veneer layer with oil or something similar? I have the Leo Jaymz version of this guitar and it’s basically a clone of what you have in this video. The butler maple veneer on mine seems unfinished, not sure if it’s worth getting some linseed oil to finish the wood.

Just got the black one and I'm happy. Came in a clamshell of styrofoam and was very well protected. Love the bridge. Restrung with 9's stretched the strings and it stayed in tune like a champ. The only issue was a slight buzz on the low E. The frets are perfect. Pickups are not really that bad at all. I paid $369 and would definitely buy it again. Never played headless before and it doesn't seem weird at all. Very light. No neck diving. Comfortable to play.

@@flailhead love it so much I yanked the EMG zakk Wylde set out of my Jackson and installed them on the eart. Cleaned the fretboard which was dirtier than it looked.
