I used ta have a cat like that, and to call him I made a distinct sound, not even a yell, and he could hear it and ca me right away miauing. Maybe you should get them all accustom to a single sound to come back home.

My cats rarely eat the voles though, I’m guessing they don’t taste good. Their favorite is bunnies. Often the only leftovers I find are the cotton tails.

My indoor outdoor cats bring in something new every day. They’ve caught mice, voles, birds, snakes, even bats. I have to be careful to watch where I step in the morning so I don’t find their leftovers. I became desensitized to their daily duties, have concluded that cats are killing machines. That’s the circle of life I guess. Predators are important for ecosystem, and in the suburbs their only real competition is hawks, eagles and coyotes.

Well we keep a few guard geese with the ducks, everyone gets put to bed at night and also our two sheepdogs are out and about during the days so it hasn’t been an issue at all. The houses and runs are built tough.

Love love your videos. I watch them all but unable to comment since I watch them on tv. I had a pond in my back yard for many years. I learned quickly that you need to put a rock or stump that stick out of water so the frogs can swim and able stop to breath. Otherwise they will drown...ONE MORE THING, WHAT KIND OF NETTING DID YOUR SOUSE USE, I LOVE THAT IT IS ATTACHED TO A HAT..

Aww thanks, it’s just a bug screen that she puts over her hat it works very well cause the bugs can be so annoying. I do have a big log in the pond just for wildlife to be able to get out but if you have any tips to deal with algae bloom?

Aww thanks. Chunk barn cat will swat the rabbits butts but that’s about it they get along fairly well. I’d keep the cats out if there were baby bunnies though. We add all of the manure to our compost system but I just set it up last year so it hasn’t produced enough yet, a lot of it still has to compost down. Do have plans for a greenhouse but I’m tired of supporting Home Depots lumber yard so I bought my own sawmill to make my own lumber. Thanks so much for the comment and welcome to the farm 😁

Cats are hunters even if “domesticated house cats”. Most dogs are pets (hunting or farm dogs maybe the exception), but they mainly want attention. We lived on a farm. My sister was scared of snakes. Her dog killed ANY snake in the vicinity. So, cats are ALWAYS hunters, but dogs are only sometimes hunters.
