6:23 Naw when needed he had great ground and pound. Against Oleg Taktatov and Tank hed blast dudes on the ground. And had overall significantly better submission offense than Coleman, his record alone shows a massive load of subs he did in comparison to coleman

I watched this live and think I still have the VHS I taped. Conan result was a shocker at the time. He gassed and left himself wide open. Macias had a reputation of deliberately hurting people in training. I trained BJJ at the time when it was first making its appearance in the early 1990s. Once of my training partners trained with Goes, and Goes was probably the best BJJer of that era in MMA. Erik Paulson was probably the most well-rounded of that bunch and had catch influenced training from Japan. I trained in Vale's association for a short while and he had a fearsome reputation but his technical skill level was not impressive at all. I knew Maurice Smith from watching him prior in kickboxing and feared he would be a challenge. Although Hume had an interest in Greek Pankration, I don't think he had much knowledge of much grappling submission until he went to Japan for Pancrase.

Goes was probably the most technical of the Carlson Gracie team, and thats saying a lot. He was right up there with Bustamante.

Andre van den Oetelaar is from my town. he was 38 back there. He was a nasty mean feared bouncer. He used to own a gym, but not anymore. He probably was a bouncer friend of Bas Rutten who comes from a town nearby.

Thank you for posting this video. My name is Tommy Rojas. I was Quinton's manager following the Sakuraba fight. The BattlARTS fight against the Diet Butcher was the first fight I made for Quinton. It was made right after the Sakuraba fight as his warm up before going back to Pride which was only 3 weeks later after the Otsuka fight. The red, white and blue trunks were actually borrowed from Shannon Ritch whom I managed later. Shannon and Bas Ruten were also in Quinton's corner for this fight although the only corner you see is Dave Roberts. Thanks for posting. It brought back alot of GREAT memories. Tommy

The fact that Bam Bam did not hardly defend himself or try to push Kimo off tells me he got paid to take this fall. I mean was he always going to lose against Kimo? Yes, but to show little to no resistance when a guy lighter than you is on you and punching is suspect. And also notice, Kimo was throwing rapid punches in spkit seconds. He threw a punch with many seconds for Bam Bam to do something, and he did not.
