The reality for some people (like me) is that we can't use CPAP and will ultimately get serious health issues without doing something.

I have rubber bands just on my right side of my mouth on my top canine to bottom canine but when I put the rubber band on when my mouth is closed it feels loose and the rubber band isnt tight and im not sure if im supposed to twist the rubber band and connect it or just put it on normally without twisting it into a 8 shape. Do you know how to do it
@BaronDHall2 күн бұрын
It depends on what your orthodontist prescribed. See if you can take a picture and send it to them for confirmation. Plus, you can ask for stronger rubber bands if needed

Hello, is it common for the gum to move a little downwards? The gum on some of my upper teeth moved down which was not intended by my dentist. Now the gum line looks a bit disaligned when I smile and it started with the 8th aligner. Now I'm wearing the 10th set.And what is the best thing to do now? Thank you.
@BaronDHall3 күн бұрын
If the teeth move down, it's expected that the gum(s) will move down as well. However, inflammation of the gums (caused by many things) can also cause the gums to seem like they're coming down. I'd have to see you to give specific advice, but anything like what you're describing SHOULD be fixable at some point.

Hi. My orthodontist would tighten my wires literally every weekend and ask me if it was painful, I'd say no, and then she would tighten it again. After my treatment, my facial structure changed drastically and I developed hollows under my eyes and sunken cheeks. I look unrecognizable. Do you think this could be the reason? Bone loss? No extractions were done, though she shaved off the incisors and canines in the lower jaw and pushed my teeth back giving me an overbite. My teeth were rather well aligned earlier. Pls respond, I'm trying to understand what could have gone wrong. Thank you.
@BaronDHall7 күн бұрын
Why did you see your orthodontist every weekend?
@rsaigol92266 күн бұрын
@@BaronDHall Because she wanted to see me every weekend. I didn't know any better. I'll try to get her notes of the treatment just to be sure but I saw her very frequently. Dr. Baron, I have dropped you a message on Ig with my before and after photographs. I'm just trying to understand why my face changed so drastically after the treatment and if there are corrective measures that I can take now. Thank you soo much, I really appreciate you responding.

I have Invisalign. Do you use elastics with your Invisalign patients? If so, can you explain how yours works? Do you have hooks on your Invisalign? I have had Invisalign for 13 months now with no elastics, but I just had a surgery where now I have to use elastics to pull down my upper canines. My set up is odd, I’m just curious how other people are doing it. Thank you for any info 🙏🙏🙏 PS: I don’t have any hooks on mine. My ortho just cut my aligners by hand to make a spot to hook them on, but I can’t get mine on at all. I’m going back next week to see if we can fix it or find another solution.
@BaronDHall13 күн бұрын
Hi, yes, we use elastics with our aligners. You can have cuts/hooks like yours where the elastic hooks directly to the aligner. You can also have cutouts that leave room for a small bracket or metal hook to be bonded to the tooth. Doing it that way can typically allow for a stronger elastic.

Great explanation, I have hinged braces so don't use bands. Had a year of top brace and just started on bottom brace to correct a moderate overbite. Really pleased with the result but with another year to go I have to say it's been a challenging so far. After overbite correction I'll be having crowns first and then implants. At a mere age of 66 I hoping I'll survive into old age to make the most of my new nasshers.... 🤣

Random question perhaps but let’s say I currently have a good bite / slight overbite though in the normal range. If I was to try one of these devices and it ended up permanently moving my jaw (potentially alleviating symptoms of apnea), would correction of my bite then simply cause the lower jaw to be moved backwards again?
@BaronDHall13 күн бұрын
Most likely, yes, but that's my thought without having seen you in person. Take it with a grain of salt

im disappointed with you guys after covid. seriously. when the people needed you most, you became more expensive and impossible to even make an appointment for months. idk what is going on, and i dont mean you in particular, but many in your field are extremely greedy. seems like dentistry is the wild west at this point. i can't even make an emergency appointment by me after being in extreme pain, i may not seem like it cuz im so angry but i never make a scene, im quiet, and i dont even hear BACK from dentists i have never seen them so disorganized in my life.

How about I only drink iced coffee? I change my aligners every 15 days, and I've been doing this for 2 months. I always drink water to rinse my mouth and remove the coffee taste. Also, I only use sweeteners like stevia to flavor it.
@johnanaya132218 күн бұрын
By doing this, can the iced coffee damage the aligners or affect them in any way?
@BaronDHall16 күн бұрын
The coffee will strain the aligners (and your teeth). And the acid from the coffee is not good for your teeth.

Hii! so my ortho took my wire off of the right side of my mouth and left it on the front and left side. I have a class II bite on that side and wear my bands just like in the video on the right side. The ortho assistant said he thinks it would move "faster" if there's no wire. Does that make sense? I go back in 3 weeks will it be closed by then?
@BaronDHall27 күн бұрын
That makes sense, yes, and it's worth a shot. It "could be closed," but I don't know the degree of your class two, age, elastics, regimen, etc.
